Cottons is a corporate style hotel with friendly staff. Proximity to Manchester Airport is a bonus. It's a pity that breakfast is now entirely self service but the food is good quality and freshly made. The restaurant offers good food and service but is a little too pricy. Parking is convenient and plentiful.

When checking in we were given a free upgrade to a larger room, which was really nice. All staff we saw met were really friendly. The breakfast was amazing with a wide range of choices of hot and cold food. We only had one small issue that when using the shower it was draining quickly enough so slightly overflowed, we let reception know as we checked out and maintenance were to be called straight away. The hotel is near the airport so there is a lot of aircraft noise.

Absolutely wonderful stay for our wedding anniversary. A truly lovely hotel with excellent staff who are helpful, happy and welcoming. Spa is a real bonus. Nothing fancy but lots on offer albeit small in size. Room was incredible. We were in a junior suite and felt at home. Cleaning staff could do with moving cushions/ furniture to ensure it’s fully cleaned as we did find some leftover items by accident. Look forward to returning again.

Overall, for the price we paid for the room, it was just ok. We paid for an ensuite but it was only a panel of frosted glass between the toilet and the bed, and the glass doors didnt seal closed. Really disappointed with this feature of our room. Staff and other amenities were fine, again, just expensive. Spa wasn’t included with the room.

Room was spacious and clean but furniture and shower need updating. Height of shower couldn’t be changed. Not enough lighting in the room. We couldn’t turn our air con unit on or off as the button was faulty. Maintenance came and turned it on but we were unable to turn it off later so room was cold. They said it was one of the rooms it needed repairing in but they were struggling to do that as the room was frequently occupied by guests. The beds and pillows were lovely & comfortable. There was no safety deposit box in the room. Breakfast was nice and plenty of choice of hot and cold food. We were staying there as guests at a wedding. The cheese & biscuits served as a snack in the evening were lovely with various different cheeses available but no knives or plates were provided resulting in guests using their fingers - plates and cutlery were provided when we asked for them but should have been provided as the food was served.

The room was large and clean. It did smell rather musty though. We’ve been to this hotel a few times and it’s not as good as it used to be. Probably much like some other hotels who have had to reduce standards, staff etc. Reception staff were very pleasant and efficient. Bar staff were the same. Service at dinner in the restaurant wasn’t quite as good.

This is an informative review for future guests. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout our stay. From the outside, the building is beautiful and has plenty of character. We had originally booked a standard room but were upgraded to a Signature Room. While the upgrade was appreciated, the room itself was very dated and did not meet our expectations for the price paid. The shower over the bath leaked continuously into the tub throughout the night, the cold water indicator on the sink tap was missing and the fitting appeared rusty, the bedside lamp switch was broken, and the table in the bedroom was not clean. On a positive note, the bed was very clean and comfortable, and the towels were fresh and spotless. As we were only staying for one night, we didn’t feel it was worth raising these issues during our stay. Breakfast offered a sufficient selection, but the dining area was very chaotic. Most tables were covered with used plates and leftover food, making it difficult to tell which tables were available. We eventually approached a member of the breakfast staff, who was friendly and promptly cleared and sanitised a table for us. Overall, while the staff and service were excellent, the condition of the room and the breakfast experience were disappointing. Unfortunately, based on the accommodation and value for money, it is not somewhere we would choose to stay again.

The hotel itself was looking quite tired in places. The room was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. Hotel was advertised as having a swimming pool but when we arrived we discovered pool use wasn’t included (and there was an additional fee to use it). So be mindful when booking - don’t assume it’s included in the cost. Cleanliness was average but the water jug had lip marks around it and hair in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful.
