What are the benefits of Travel Insurance?

Travel Insurance is an insurance product from CHUBB ID. The coverage of the insurance includes:

1. Personal Accidents

Covers up to Rp500.000.000 if you sustain a bodily injury, which results in permanent disability and/or death, within 180 days of the accident date during your trip.

2. Trip Cancellation by Passenger (Due to Specific Reason)

Both the domestic and international plan cover up to Rp30.000.000 if you are forced to cancel a part or the whole of your planned trip due to specified causes.

The specified causes include:

  1. You are suffering from a terminal condition, becoming ill or sustaining a bodily injury, so you are not allowed to travel.
  2. You or your family member(s) is sick or has passed away, sustains a bodily injury, or needs to receive an inpatient treatment at a hospital.
  3. Cancellation of scheduled public transportation services because of civil commotion or riot.
  4. Your house becomes uninhabitable due to fire, storm, or flood, so you cannot travel.
  5. You cannot commence or continue your journey due to natural disasters.

For points (1) to (3), the events mentioned must occur within 30 days before the departure date, and for point (4), the event must occur within seven (7) days before the departure date.

This insurance only covers the loss of deposits, charges for advance payments for travel or accommodation.

3. Flight Delay

Coverage of Rp750.000 per 4 consecutive hours from the time specified in the itinerary, with a maximum coverage of Rp4.500.000.

This includes delays due to civil commotion or industrial action, adverse weather conditions or mechanical breakdown. The delay also must be verified in writing by the airline or their handling agent, as well as the number of hours delayed and the reason for the delay.

4. Missed Travel Connection

Coverage of up to Rp5.000.000 if, during a connecting flight, you miss your next flight due to the late arrival of your previous flight.

The travel misconnection details must be verified by the airline or their handling agent, as well as the reason for the travel misconnection, along with the scheduled and the actual time of arrival of the initial flight.

5. Baggage Delay

If your check-in baggage is not delivered to you within 4 hours after your arrival at the destination, the insurance will cover up to Rp500.000 per 4 hours of delay, with a maximum coverage of Rp3.000.000. This benefit does not apply if the delivery of baggage is delayed upon your return flight.

6. Loss or Damage of Checked-In Baggage

The insurer will cover up to Rp5.000.000 for each lost item and up to Rp1.000.000 for each repair cost per item, or a maximum of Rp20.000.000 of the aggregate limit.

Noted that any claims must be accompanied by proof of compensation received from the airline. This benefit does not apply if the delivery of baggage is delayed upon your return flight.
