We enjoyed our stay at Strahan Village. We had a lovely room overlooking the water. The room was clean and had what we needed for our short stay. Staff were friendly. We would have ranked higher however there smelt like there were plumbing issues which needs attending to on the way to the room.

Upon check in we upgraded to a king and the guy didn't know how to change that in the system w/out us having to cancel through hotels.com. Fortunately, his colleague was able to help. We were offered a 20% discount off of the hotel restaurant View 42, but when we tried to take advantage of it, no one knew what we were talking about. Hotel room very comfortable. Needs ice machines on each floor. View spectacular.

Room was clean but a little dated and the shower grout needed mould attended to! For the cost of the room it really needs a bathroom reno. No recycling bins provided (odd on the edge of a wilderness conservation are). Room ‘looked’ on the car park so as opposed to a garden with cars coming and going a lot.

Room was clean and generous size, however walls very thin and could hear neighbours clearly so not good for light sleepers. Location central to town. Parking not close to room however there is a drop off point for luggage. Stair or ramp access to rooms with no lift so not great if you have mobility issues. Staff were very helpful.

Clean room. Arrived in a downpour & heating was on thanks. Close to waterfront. Happy with everything except the bed, way too soft, not normally what you’d expect in a hotel. Good bar & also a restaurant.

Warm welcome, great view from room, plenty of places to eat, walks. The room was a good size. Only minor niggle was how hard the bathroom taps were to turn on and off (no good for anyone with arthritis). Good towels!

Laundry facilities need a lot of attention - one location had no washing machine & both dryers were out of order - the only operating laundry had major line up of people to use it & so long delays were the norm - very disappointing for a facility of this size

Strahan Village is beautiful, the entire place is owned by the NRMA including one of the cruises. However, the accomodation is terrible and the NRMA should be embarrassed that they are willing to offer this poor level of accomodation to guests (sadly the service was not much better). An organisation the size of the NRMA should have completely refurbished this accomodation including the dining facility (View 42). The accomodation smells (not in a good way), it is extremely tired, all that has been done to the place is to paint everything white to freshen it up. This is a major disappointment, Strahan, in particular Strahan Village is a beautiful location and the exterior of the buildings and layout is brilliant. But if you stay on the hill in the motel style accomodation that has not been updated since it was built, it is a very poor experience. The View 42 restaurant offers a buffet for $60 per person, the quality of the food was poor and made me feel like I was back in the early 2000, low value for money and felt like we were being taken advantage of. If this property was run by an independent I can understand the cost to invest and upgrade could be prohibitive, but the NRMA is a huge organisation and can do much better and should do much better. As an NRMA member (who also stayed in many other NRMA properties on our family holiday to Tasmania), I felt let down by the NRMA. This was the worst part of our trip and we were happy to be checking out of the accomodation.

We were moved one day into our stay because they were unable to fix a broken blind that was supposed to block out an outside night light over a window that wouldn’t open or close properly. The apartment we were moved to had taps that couldn’t be turned off in the bathroom and a toilet that continued flushing after filling up. On both occasions the receptionist said they’d get someone to look at it but seemed generally unconcerned. There were no apologies when we checked out.
