Was a little worried after reading some of the reviews. Booked a family room sea view, everything was absolutely fine. Was not one of the renovated rooms but was clean enough and did the job.

There was a large group of us who stayed in the twin bedded family room. The mattresses were very uncomfortable unfortunately which caused us not to have a good nights rest. There was also a lot of corridor noise, people talking and doors slamming which I understand is not entirely the hotels fault but still caused a lot of disruption. Other than this the stay was great, staff were very helpful and rooms were clean. Thank you!!

If you’re only looking for a bed for the night this hotel is ok but if you require anything else don’t expect it here. On arriving we were told we’d been upgraded to a sea view room on the top floor which we were really happy about, however when we got to our family room we found; - No toilet paper, - The camp bed was just a mattress and duvet no sheet or mattress cover making it very uncomfortable - The room gets full sun most of the day making it incredibly hot ( so hot the curtains had melted, see photo) the windows do not open very far and there is no air conditioning. 2 fans had been put in the room though they didn’t make much of a difference. - No electric sockets near the bedside and some that just didn’t work or you couldn’t use as the skirting board blocked them. - No information about the hotel, e.g WiFi, facilities, restaurant times etc. -No telephone in the room to ask for assistance so if there was an issue I had to walk down to reception from the 7th floor (it’s a massive hotel) I mentioned these things in the morning to the receptionist (short light hair, I think her name was Jackie) who really didn’t seem bothered and asked for toilet roll and a bedsheet. Nothing was done when we returned to the hotel later that day. I then had to ask 2 more times before getting a bedsheet. - House keeping only visits every 4 days - There is little or no information on booking explaining that the pool and carpark are both at an additional cost.

The receptionist that we personally delt with was amazing can’t fault him But the hotel the cleaners clearly need a course on how to clean took us 4 different rooms before there was a room that was OKAY to sleep in as the dirt/dust in the others were shocking Blood marks Stained sheets Hairs in a “clean bathroom” Bugs in the bed Rotten milk on the desk This is just to name a few !! The dust was that bad my friend took an asthma attack and I sure as hell wasn’t letting my prem baby sleep in the previous rooms . The hygiene standards are appalling my baby’s clothes and skin were filthy by just being on the ground in the room for 5 minutes! The carpets clearly don’t get carpet cleaned EVER ! Was going to use the pool only reason we booked the hotel was to have a hotel with a pool but we weren’t risking getting sick ! Definitely won’t be back. !

Ok not what expected from reviews but it is what I expected for what paid. Swimming pool you pay extra, but only £2 adult and £1 child. Tram stops near enough outside so 17min walk to pleasure walk is manageable!

The property was understaffed in every department. On Saturday, check in took over 30mins due to long queues and only 2 staff on reception. At night, there were massive queues at the bar due to only have 1 member of staff on the bar- also meaning the bar area was littered with dirty glasses, and there was no air conditioning so the bar area was very warm. On Sunday morning, breakfast was poor. Again due to not enough staff working. Continually running out of plates, cups, glasses etc and then very little food available on the buffet and of the few trays of hot food that were there , many were empty. Room was clean though.

When I arrived at around 5:00 pm, I had to wait over 30 minutes to check in because the reception queue was so long. I had specifically booked a room with a fridge because I have multiple food allergies and need to store my own food, but when I checked, I was told my room didn't have one. I explained this was why I'd booked that room type, but the receptionist said the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing he could do. If I'd had time, I would have cancelled and stayed elsewhere. The room itself was awful. As soon as I walked in, there was a strong smell of urine coming from the bathroom, although it looked clean. The furniture was old, scratched and worn, the carpet and plastic curtains looked like they hadn't been replaced in years, and there was no fridge despite it being included in my booking. It even looked like one had been removed from the cupboard. The Wi-Fi was so poor that the TV was unusable. The only positive was that the bed sheets appeared clean. I didn't want to stay, but I had no time to find another hotel. Considering the poor condition of the room, the missing advertised amenity and the terrible facilities, the price was completely unjustified. I won't be staying here again.

The communal areas were lovely, welcoming and clean but unfortunately the rooms where the polar opposite. When we entered our room the bath was full of rust, the carpet was dirty, there was a patch of damp and mould on the ceiling, the bed frame was broken and the lock on the window had fallen off. My husband went back to reception and we were shown another room, this one was slightly better. The only things wrong with the second room was that the window was nailed shut and the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. We were only staying one night with our service dog but we expected better. Plus it was a heatwave outside and only a fan to keep us all cool
