ibis Budget Sheffield Centre St Marys Gate

Excellent hotel, a little walk from the station. The only problem was that we put the card on the door saying having a break. The cleaners came in anyway, and my autistic son had an episode and the police were called. The hotel itself is highly recommended though.

Pleasantly surprised by how great this hotel was for the price. Rooms are a good size, clean and have all the standard things to make a stay comfortable - towels, kettle, TV, heating/AC. Plenty to choose from if you want breakfast at a great price. We did find some things a little confusing. We ordered some toast and were told to help ourselves, however we were unsure if the price was for 1 or 2 slices as it didn't specify on the menu. Car parking token was validated at the end of the stay taking the cost of 24hr parking from £24 to £11. Would recommend and would definitely stay here again.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable, the area a little unsafe at night, but otherwise ok

Really clean room, small and basic but got what we paid for, reasonable price and walking distance to town centre, all good!

I got a disabled toilet/shower/wet-room which was kind of flowing into the bedroom if i didn't 'brush' the water into the drain. Also, room wasn't toasty warm but rather borderline 'fresh'. Also, blanket/duvet was slightly thin though i wasn't exactly freezing cold.

Fairly spacious room, basic but that's what I paid for. Comfortable bed and a good bathroom. Relatively quiet considering the location.

The room has no windows and the air con is not strong enough, so the room is boiling.

Good value (we only paid £50 for a double room). Good for a 1 night stay. Bathroom was nice and modern. No frills hotel for those on a budget. Bed was very firm (too firm for me). We brought our own pillows as I had read reviews before staying and knew they would only supply two pillows. I was also expecting the double bed to be against the wall and we used this to our advantage for watching tv, which was at a right-angle to the bed, by leaning against the side wall to watch it straight on. Not much interaction with staff who had trouble explaining the price of the pool table. Don’t expect anyone to ask how your stay was on the way out!

Did the job well, cheap and cheerful, decent location, not too far of a walk from the trian station. Room and bathroom fine and clean, good bed, quiet. Friendly staff, easy check in, allowed early check in at 11am for £10. didn't use the bar/restaurant facilities but looked good. Would stay again for a budget night stay

Stayed here twice now and it's a great hotel. Very easy to get to the city centre and access everything you need. Staff are friendly and very clean rooms and hotel.

For £30 a night, wasn't expecting The Ritz but the staff attitude were a bit to be desired. Just got the impression everything was a chore and they simply did not want to be there. Was a mid week booking so they weren’t mega booked up but just feel the staff couldn’t get bothered.

we were happy with everything, cleanliness, AC etc, they're not massive rooms, but perfect for location and getting to places.. we parked in the car park, there was a bit of confusion with regards the parking, they (the hotel)validated our chip and it was more than if we'd stayed and payed normally, but we got it sorted by the guy in the parking, no discount, but all good.. and then we left the car overnight and the price and validation worked fine.. we'll be wiser next time.. not complaining, just mentioning it..

Good enough hotel. No parking very close by to unload. Room ok but a bit sparse, however it was clean and close to city and quiet.

No alcohol being served in the hotel and no explanation given for this. Shower did not have enough water pressure. No bin in room. Otherwise great stay.
