Hotel has no AC. A pedestal fan was provided, but entirely non functional. The one in my room, room 52 did not seem to blow any air, despite it being on. I raised a complaint and was told to write a note for the duty manager. I did this but was ignored and nothing was done to mitigate the heat. The room was uncomfortable to sleep in and ultimately a dreadful experience.

We stayed in mid July. The hotel has a nice vibe but is looking a little bit tired in places and in need of a bit of a spruce. The rooms were incredibly hot. a fan was supplied but it was pretty ineffective. I hate to think what it would have been like during the height of the heatwave when temperatures were 10 degrees hotter. Hotel is well located for the centre of town with everything within a short walking distance. Didn't eat at the restaurant but did use the bar. Staff friendly.

When we arrived to check in we had que behind 12 guests who were there just to complain. hotel is very tired and outdated. we got a disabled room which was not what we wanted or booked. No other rooms available apparently. air con does not work, and flashes all night! Common amongst the guests who were queuing to complain. Room was hence far too hot to sleep well. Bed was very uncomfortable and Mattress was tired at best. tv outdated, has only 4 channels that get reception, 1 of which is the shopping channel. Dining room has the plaster falling in from the ceiling and wallpaper is missing and peeling. Breakfast was not great and did not have fresh pastries..... Wanted to use the pool but was told it was closing at 6:30 not 7 as advertised so not worth the effort. location however is great to explore Stratford. For what it is, massively overpriced, in my opinion go to Travelodge instead, same standard, better value.

Overall, the hotel was comfortable, but there several disappointing aspects to our stay. One thing to be aware of is that no bottled water is provided in the rooms, so you’ll need to bring your own. Although the rooms are fitted with air conditioning, it wasn’t working during our stay. They were clearly broker (in both the rooms we booked) due to the weather conditions at the time, which made the room less much comfortable than expected especially with the heat wave the weekend we stayed. Breakfast was fairly basic, and while staff showed guests to their tables and took out part for breakfast the food never arrived and we were then informed we must do self-service from the buffet. The hotel was average and these these small details meant the experience did not meet expectations for what is otherwise presented as one of the nicer options in Stratford.

A lovely quirky & very old hotel. We had a great stay & will come back again. Not really any negatives above what you would expect from an old historic building. Attention to detail could be improved in a few area's, but these are minor, picky things. Positives far outweigh the negatives. Great building,l & great location to town. Family room was very nice & spacious, staff were friendly & helpful. Excellent breakfast (cold plates at 1st breakfast! Attention to detaiil). Swimming pool was excellent & 13year old loved it, as did I! A great short vacation & will return..

The room was fine, however the central air conditioning for the bedroom was not functioning correctly and as such as not producing cold air. A fan had already been provided in the room but with temperatures of c. 30c this was insufficient for a good night's sleep. No offer of compensation was made at check out.

The hotel was ok, a small section was a nice historical building with character but large bits are new and dated and not in a good way. The rooms where very hot and not air conditioned, it was cooler going outside in the 30+ def then it was in the room. By biggest annoyance was the parking l, they have lots of it but it’s an extra £7 a night per vehicle, not per space. Now I know that seems an odd thing to say, but I stayed the with my father and we both traveled up by motorcycle. So we only take up one space yet we where made to pay twice that if a car!!! We could have both parked in a space each but that’s petty. I felt the venue didn’t really care about its guests and where out to make as much as they could, it seems like a computer says no, type place with no common sense or consideration for guests that don’t fit there norm. I wouldn’t stay there again at the prices they charge + the hidden extras. Also all the staff seemed to be dressed differently no real uniform structure, no an issue, but it did make it slightly harder to identify staff from guests. Apart from the reception staff and one young lady on the bar all other staff seemed like they where maintenance staff that where mucking in to help with waiting on guest and bring out food. Overall a very underwhelming experience and stay.

Staff were lovely,as was room etc. but aircon was not working and room was very warm (window didn’t open very far). A fan was provided, which helped but was faulty (made terrible noise over certain speed). A great location (short walk into town) and would stay again but must sort the AC out.

No air conditioning, despite being advertised as having it, waited 40 minutes to check in with no apologies and when I got into the room, on the hottest day of the year, the room was 48 degrees with a window that opened two inches!!! I requested a full refund from the duty manager who didn’t seem to care at all and kept us waiting another 40 minutes before arguing that because I bought it through Expedia there was nothing he could do. I got Expedia on the phone who confirmed I had paid at the property and therefore they were the merchant. Eventually we got a refund and booked into another property. Six other people were complaining at the same time! Will not be visiting here again!

Blisteringly hot in the room and a/c not working. Windows all restricted opening so impossible to get through draft. Breakfast ok but good coffee would be a useful addition - and please will someone go a try a proper French croissant before serving these chewy tired imitations. Location great, pool a fabulous addition. Could be so good - just needs to belong to an organisation who care.

So excellent location for RSC theatre and Stratford, relatively cheap, good parking, nice pool, dog friendly… downsides … vanilla quality big hotel mass tourism, as far from boutique as possible. A/c not working on a hot day, rooms a bit tired.

For £285 for one night I was expecting a hell of a lot more. Tired rooms, bathroom and bed all in dire need of an update. TV channels didn't work. Very disappointed and not worth the cost.
