Loved our stay at St James will definitely be back! Situated in a lovely area, room was clean and comfortable all you need. Unfortunately we visited when the restaurant was out of action for refurbishment but plenty of local places to eat which were great.

From the moment we booked in the reception staff were very helpful and friendly,we had a refurbished room that was spacious and very clean,as there isn't any Aircon there was a free standing fan behind the door for us. The bed was large and very comfortable,the pillows could have been firmer. There was a good choice for breakfast, I'm a vegetarian and I wasn't left hungry again the staff were very friendly. We didn't stay in the hotel carpark,as we had read the reviews, and have a large car ,so stayed in the NCP which is next to the hotel. Would we stay again yes,as it was a short walk to the city centre and we needed to pass the Kittie cafe 😻 to get there. The hotel is beautiful decorated and very clean.

Location good for NCP car park, though hotel does have parking at reduced cost but we did not use it. Reception helpful at check-in. Pleasant walk to town centre and nearby bars looked busy. Entrance is spacious but dated in decor, but looks like it is being upgraded. New carpet had been laid on floor to our room. Room was ideal for our needs, enough towels, toiletries and good lighting. Blinds could have covered more as light was coming on by 4.30 am. Welcomed to dining area, Breakfast included and good quality sausages and choice. Just reduced lighting but noted balcony area in upper floor in bar. Check out good and friendly woman on reception. Would recommend.

The hotel is well placed for visiting Nottingham and with good parking facilities close by. There are also some decent pubs near by to eat at and in walking distance a range of eateries, etc. The room that I stayed at was clean but small, but as a single traveller adequate. The shower worked well and the bed was comfortable. There was plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits and the tv was adequate. The staff were all helpful, friendly and efficient. The breakfast had a decent range of options from fruit, toast, muffins to a limited cooked choice. All perfectly nice, especially the bread. On the downside I did have to see four bedrooms before choosing one. Although all were tidy and clean some displayed a need for a little tender love and care or faced the multi story car park. We did evidence signs that the hotel is in the process of a repaint. Overall a good and pleasant stay. Yes I would stay again.

WiFi is not secure as it's an open network. Breakfast was fine but you have to order eggs other than scrambled, and it took a while to get two poached - when they came they were overcooked. Breakfast is a simple dish to prepare and cook, eggs the simplest.
