What Guests Say About Their Stay

This is a quirky little hotel with a mix of exposed brickwork and plush velvety wall coverings combined. The staff were very helpful and pointed out good places to visit in the area. The bar is very reasonably priced also. Breakfast was a nice buffet with a mix or cooked, cereal, toast and some pastries. I had booked a double room but was upgraded to a room with six beds in it! Lots of space but didn’t really see a need to be upgraded to so many beds. Room was nicely decorated and the spa bath was nice to soak in, plenty of space in it as well. Although the hotel, including rooms, is clean, it is not perfectly clean as in there is a bit of dust here and there. If you are after spotless then maybe not the place for you. But for a fairly budget hotel, with clean enough rooms, clean bedding and towels, I would definitely come again. Ours was the red room on floor one son with six beds, great for a family to be all in one room together

Don’t usually write reviews but feel the need to warn people of this property. Stayed in the Cave for 8 room with 3 friends, in town for the football match. Paid £500 per night for the stay in the Cave for 8 room, based on the pictures on Expedia which showed 4 individual hot tubs, and one big room with 4 beds. The room we had is not the one in the pictures, we had one big hot tub rather than 4 individual ones - so room lay out was completely different. 1 bathroom (with both toilet and showers in) between up to 8 guests - had no ventilation at all. Presumably what was the mechanical ventilation stopped working because rusted away. No ventilation in the room by the hot tub either. Caulk in the bathroom cracked apart, paint peeling off the walls - honestly the room is in a shocking state. If you bought a house in this condition - you would be saying you needed to go back to brick, the finishes are that poor. 4 guests booked - 3 towels in the room, all of which are the small ones and feel about 15 or 20 years old. Ones you would expect to find if you were staying in a student house. They’ve got these stupid fridges with the monster logo on the front implanted into the wall, where the light is permanently on and fans making noise all night, and they obviously have 2 exit signs in the room that stays lit all night as well. This room looks like it was designed and built by a 16 year old with no prior building experience, but given the damp & light may be good for photosynthesis

When we got there the receptionist programmed the wrong room into our key so we accidentally went into an occupied room. We then had to change rooms as the first room we were booked into was cold and damp. The 2nd room was better but did have a lot of mould the walls around the windows. Otherwise it was a nice place to stay and the breakfast was good

we were upgraded to a bigger room in the basement with hot tub . it was enormous but the problem is we cannot sleep because of the exit light sign in the bedroom and the fridge they were constantly on. i brought the matter to the reception to ask if they can switch off the light but nothing has been resolved. for a room that can accommodate more than 10 people there should be at least two bathroom and toilet. but theres only one so we are five in the room and need to wait for someone to finish before you can use it. thats the only problem i had in the hotel .
