Overall, our stay at the Grand Mercure Mirama was very satisfying. We also enjoyed the Chinese food and Japanese (sushi) restaurants. This hotel prioritizes not only comfort but also health.
All the staff were friendly, even the security and parking attendants were friendly. The hotel is spacious, with plenty of staff on hand to help us with any questions.
The hotel room was clean and the facilities were excellent. We were generous with free mineral water, with four available. There was also pre-made tea, and complimentary fruit and snacks. The room and bathroom facilities were also very satisfying. As for the amenities outside the room, we only enjoyed the restaurant. There was a welcome drink at the cafe across the lobby, but we didn't take it because we were looking for food. So, we'll skip this review and move on to the restaurants.
We went to the Indonesian restaurant (breakfast), the Japanese restaurant, and the Chinese restaurant. We understand that hotel restaurant food is usually smoother in flavor. This is just our opinion, and it may not be the same for others. Of the three, the Japanese restaurant was a bit lacking in my opinion. We tried the salmon sushi, but the salmon lacked flavor. Could it be that the salmon was sliced too thinly? The wasabi wasn't spicy enough. The ramen broth was too thick, making it difficult to stir. The Chinese food had a really good taste and texture. Moving on to the breakfast menu at the Indonesian restaurant, it was varied and delicious. The flavors weren't as strong as most Indonesian food, perhaps because hotels usually make the flavors smoother. If you stay here, you don't have to bother looking for East Javanese specialties; they have almost everything on the breakfast menu. Even the traditional cakes. If you come here, you must try them 😁 I love the traditional cake (I forgot the name), it's green, and it smells really good of leaves like suji or pandan leaves. The salad dressing is really delicious and the vegetables are fresh. The fruit juice is real, sugar-free. The sweetness comes from the fruit. Maybe an addition, some dishes are too smooth for Indonesian specialties, like rawon and Malang meatballs. So that it has a truly Indonesian flavor.
