Kampung Lawasan Heritage Cottage

The stay has been great. I loved the pool (it was heated). The staff are great and friendly. Fortunately I had some very basic bahasa indonesia/malaysia skills to get me through when it comes to communication with the staff. The owner had made a lot of effort in decorating the whole property with retro furnitures, furnishings and also a lot of effort has been put to give the ' bali feel ' like the sawah in front of the pool and the bamboo curtain planted near the car park. Breakfast was OK if one is not fussy with indonesian food. The coffee at the cafeteria was great and so is bar (only non alcoholic cocktails is provided). Wifi strength was excellent.

Comfortable place. Warm pool. Because the rooms are made of wood, the sound from the right and left side rooms can be heard very clearly.

Unsatisfied. I was staying there last week. The receptionist is not friendly at all from the time we're arrived. She need more training to handle the guest properly with a smile. Won't go back for more, even the breakfast was good.

We found Kampung Lawasan on social media and we are impressed by the review. In the middle of housing area, this hotel offers the tranquility of village atmosphere which makes you feel so calm and relaxed. We doubted at first when we arrived but, once we got inside, the room is well-furnished and the amenities just functioned well as they did in 4/5 -star hotel. We booked a room that is close to swimming pool which is open from 6 am to 10 pm (please check the update) and it streams warm water. The pool is child and family friendly and, while waiting for them swimming, you can have some food and beverage at the cafe. There are still some things to fuss, for example the air conditioner and breakfast. For us who live in greater Jakarta area and have vacation in a city like Yogyakarta, the air conditioning matters the most. On July 14th, when we arrived and stayed for the first time, the AC felt quite hot and it seems that the AC was not new. We made a complaint to the receptionist and the technician came to the room without really solving the problem. He said that we just need to wait for a while to cool it down but, still, for us, the temperature was not cool enough. Breakfast is indeed included in the package and do not expect that it will be served in a buffet (please check the update). They served two portions of nasi goreng with sunny side egg (standard breakfast in Indonesian hotels). It tasted really bland and, on the second day, we just walked around the neighborhood to find another place for breakfast. You could also explore the area for some options to eat. The hotel itself is very accessible to the city and there are a lot of cafes in the area since it is well-known for students residency. Online taxi drivers are familiar with the hotel too and the parking area is quite spacious.

Good location, close to the mall, any restaurant. I like the ambience, feels like living in the past, with classic furniture. The most interesting is the warm pool, the kiddos very happy.

The view is good, but not clean and toilet smelly, I'm glad the coffee can make smile little bit.
