We stayed at The Westlake Resort Yogyakarta on June 27–29, 2025 for a vacation. Initially, we booked a Deluxe River View room, but upon check-in we got a free upgrade to an Executive Lake View. This was certainly a very pleasant start. The location of the room directly faces the lake, providing a calm and natural view that can be enjoyed from the private balcony—perfect for relaxing in the morning or evening.
Our room was quite spacious, clean, equipped with complete facilities such as AC, cable TV, small refrigerator, hot water, electric kettle, and comfortable bed. The interior has a natural feel with a classic touch, matching the natural atmosphere around. The buggy service is also very helpful for mobility, especially since the distance from the lobby to the room is quite far.
During our stay, we tried the fun activities offered. We rented bicycles and electric scooters to explore the resort area. The path is quite wide, shady, and safe, so the children really enjoyed this experience. The afternoon activities felt more lively with the presence of satay sellers who went around using boats, selling chicken and goat satay directly from the lake. This was a unique and enjoyable culinary experience. In addition, there is also a bakso seller with a mobile cart that we happened to meet during our evening walk.
For breakfast, the resort serves a buffet with quite a variety of choices. In addition to the main menu, there are also traditional herbal drinks, as well as various market snacks such as and other wet cakes, which add to the local and authentic impression of the breakfast experience here.
In conclusion, The Westlake Resort Yogyakarta is very suitable for a family vacation who wants a calm and beautiful atmosphere. The location is indeed a bit far from the city center, but the atmosphere is comparable to the comfort offered. The staff are friendly, the resort atmosphere is green and natural, and there are many fun light activities. Highly recommended and I will consider staying here again the next time I go to Jogja.
