The hotel was located nearby, a 10-minute walk from Tobu Nikko Station and a 15-minute walk from Nikko JR Station. They do not provide breakfast meals, but they have self-purchase instant foods or pre-ordered food. They provide free coffee and free miso soup at the sharing area near the lobby. They also provide a free shuttle from or to Tobu Nikko Station that we need to book beforehand. The room was very clean, and they clean the floor every 3 days. Very recommended hotel when visiting the Nikko area.

This is a modern hotel. The beds were much softer than we have previously found in Japan. The hotel is some distance from the train/bus station and shops and restaurants. But a 1000 Yen taxi from the train station got us there OK. The hotel has a small shop selling food (soups, pizza etc) and drinks (Inc beer and wine). While we were there, there was a breakfast cart outside from which we purchased a nice breakfast one morning. Staff were always friendly and helpful.

Lovely staff, ample parking and a spacious, clean room. The room layout is a little strange with the sink being in the bedroom with a screen divider and there seems to be more attention to style than practicalities i.e. no hooks, shelves, drawers etc. However, we had a great stay and good nights' sleep.

An excellent hotel. The front desk staff are very polite, and the room design is comfortable and well thought out. The bedding is of high quality—especially the silky-smooth sheets, which you can tell are not your average standard. There’s also a large dining table next to the lobby for guests to enjoy drinks, thoughtfully equipped with tableware, paper plates, a small oven, and a microwave. Although it’s a bit of a distance from the city center, it’s best to drive if possible.

I have only positive things to say about this place! I truly enjoyed my stay. The bed was super comfortable, the room was great, and the social areas provided a nice space to eat or work while mingling with others. The staff could not have been better — helpful and responsive. I really enjoyed my stay. The only area I would suggest for improvement is the food offering. While practical and tasty, I’m not really a microwavable kind of person… fresh products would have been great. Anyhow, thanks again!

Nice new building & modern rooms, friendly staff, convenient and free parking. Walkable from the train station but is uphill and not very close (probably not a good idea with bags). The property offers free transfers from the station, but only hourly and just a few times a day - I would not consider this a negative though given the hotel is affordable and taxi rides are cheap.

We really enjoyed our stay at Fairfield Marriott. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and had a modern layout- the beds were so comfortable. The onsite parking was very convenient as we had a car, and the communal kitchen was especially great for heating up meals. The hotel is new and clean and the room is large. The staff was not very helpful and they do not have a reliable shuttle service even though the website says they do. The shuttle makes 3 trips a day for 5 people each time. So they can only shuttle 15 people a day to town or pick up 15 people a day. It is not much of a service so you should plan to rely on the bus which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
