What Guests Say About Their Stay

It is an apt style so, we love that there’s a mini kitchen, fridge, microwave , washer and dryer (there’s an instruction on how to dry clothes inside the bathroom and a button to press -cool! Read their manual) the toilet is separate from the shower so it’s very good esp for our family of 4. Not a lot of dining options nearby but this wasn’t a problem to us, they’re all walkable anyway. We love Resi and when we come back, we’ll try other Resi Stays.

We stayed in the Japanese style suite. Great amount of space for a family of four. The shower room converts into a clothes dryer, which was amazing to me. Two private toilets and a small kitchen. Safe and key required to access premises. Highly recommended.

Very quiet area. Many restaurants nearby that don't show up on google maps. It is a little bit of a walk to the subway lines. A/C worked good. It had two toilets which was nice and a kitchen.

I had a very horrible experience with this hotel. Communication was terrible. I had booked the stay at this hotel a month in advance, I received confirmation that payment was made right away. On the day of, my family arrived at hotel in the afternoon. I was not able to get into the hotel. There was a phone number posted on the front I tried calling this number multiple times and could not get through. My grandparents and I waited for an hr with no place to sit. No cafe nearby either. I was finally able to get into the building when someone came out. Inside I found a phone that was able to reach the front desk Staff told me check in location was at a different area about 30-40 mins away. In the front of the hotel it states if checking in after hrs the hotel can provide a code to enter the room first and then go back to check in in the morning. I explained that I have 2 elderly and 8 luggage’s. Is it possible for them to provide the code for the room first my grandparents can stay there while I took the train back to the check in area. They told me no, they were not willing to accommodate for this need. But I had told them the stay for the 4 nights was already paid for in full but they refused. In the end had to book another hotel cause grandparents were not feeling well after long flight. Hotel refused to refund the money. They then called me and sent check in instructions the next day. No use at that time. Lied to expedia that they sent it prior to check in.

Spacious with kitchen and washing machine, so great if travelling with a family. Could have been cleaner, by Japanese standards, but maybe my standards just got skewed by the other pristine hotels I stayed at during my time in Japan though .

Quiet area but close enough to convenience stores and restaurants. Bathroom dryer tricky at first but it was fine. Staff very responsive whenever we needed something. Clean and spacious (in terms of Japanese hotels).

Do not stay at RESI Apartments, you’ll regret it. You can’t check in at the apartment itself; instead, you have to go to a separate check-in building located 45 minutes away. The process involves a 20-minute walk, a 25-minute metro ride, then waiting another 20 minutes to check in, followed by a shuttle ride to the actual apartment. The entire process takes almost 2 hours just to check in! I’ve never experienced such an inconvenient and ridiculous check-in process. There are plenty of other places to stay that don’t require this kind of hassle. Avoid RESI Apartments.

Location was ideal , quiet and pleasant area. The apartment was far too stuffy. We were not allowed to have the balcony doors open , only 10cm , so we had no access to fresh air. My partner has breathing difficulties and can’t have the air conditioning unit on all the time. Had we known this previously, we would have chosen a different apartment in Kyoto. It’s not ideal that it’s not mentioned in the posting either !! The carpets really need cleaning, lots of stains.

Staff here was excellent incredibly accommodating they helped us with our luggage, which is imperative when you’re traveling from multiple cities. At the front desk, however they also have one of the best teas that Japan has to offer that they brew themselves in-house on the daily.

Overall very good experience. The kitchen was fully functional if a little tight. Really liked the location as it wasn’t too close to Kyoto station (and hence, all touristy) but it wasn’t far either. Quite central and a short walk to karasuma oike station. Also, having a washing machine in the room was AMAZING! The only very small complaints would be that the carpet had a few small stains and the room was a bit small, then again, almost every hotel in a major city in Japan is small.

The hotel was a good stay overall, it was close to a lot of nearby places in Kyoto as it is in a residential area. There are only 4 towels so if you have 3 guests staying you will have to do a load of laundry every night if you want your towels to be dry the next day for your next shower. The check in process went smoothly although it is not near the accommodation. However, they supply a shuttle bus service to take you directly to your hotel so that solves the issue of transporting all of your luggage on a bus or train. Not a bad stay overall.

We really liked this hotel and suited our family. We stayed in the room with a double bed and tatami area where our 2 children stayed. We appreciated the washing machine with soap and 2 toilets! The area was quiet which suited us well and was safe walking from bus/ metro stations. We had plenty of transport options around also a good selection of bakeries to chose from for breakfast. I liked the drying room and they gave you laundry soap which was great. I would definitely stay here again, a short walk to the food market in Nishiki and surrounding shopping areas.
