We just stayed one night in Kyoto but the hotel was so good that we wished we had stayed longer :). We chose it on account of proximity to the train station and where our Kyoto day tour started. However it was very comfortable, they provided a locker facility for our luggage without any additional fee after we checked out and the room was prepared in advance for us including as needed to accommodate our child. The staff is friendly and we would love to visit again.

This hotel is within easy walking distance of Kyoto Station. This is the main draw of this hotel, giving you easy access to the rest of the city.
The hotel is located on the station's south side, which is much quieter than the north side. This may be a benefit if you want to be further away from the hustle and bustle.
We booked a 3 bed room for a 3 person family. The room was okay. Room enough for 3 beds and a small table, but not much else. There was a distinct lack of surfaces for us to put "stuff" on. The room really needed some sort of side table or console for tourists to dump their things onto when coming back from a long day sightseeing. This is a small thing but really starts to grate on you after a few days.
Breakfast was decent. A small buffet selection, but everything was tasty and fresh.
Overall we had a good stay but the room was a little small.

Close to Kyoto Station which makes going to Fushimi and Arashiyama easy. The onsen is clean and refreshing. Room is spacious.

I could not find fault with this hotel it is the epitome of luxury, Calm and comfort, The room was perfect from the decor to the extremely comfortable beds.
The hotel is situated about 150 yards from Kyotos main train station on the opposite side to the Kyoto tower.
The reception on the 3rd floor is accessed by street level escalators. And after your daily excursions when returning to the hotel you can go to the guest lounge on the 3rd floor and have free soft drinks or beverages.
Most floors have a room near the lifts that have soft drink machines or alcohol machines.
The hotel does have a bar and restaurant but we never used them.
If you are looking for somewhere to relax and recharge your batteries this is the hotel for you.

Wonderful Stay in a Great Location
We had a fantastic stay at the RIHGA Gran Kyoto. The location is perfect—just a short walk from Kyoto Station, which made it super convenient to explore the city and take day trips.
Our room was clean, modern, and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the breakfast each morning—delicious, with a nice variety of options. The staff were friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile.
Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely stay here again
