Jaka Tingkir Train
Jaka Tingkir Train – shortened: Jakting Train, is an air-conditioned Economy class train from Indonesian Railways Company (PT KAI) operating in Java island. The train is purposely going back and forth in between Purwosari Station (Solo) - Pasar Senen Station (Jakarta). Operating under Operational Area 6 Yogyakarta, Jaka Tingkir Train is an Economy class regular express train without subsidy.
The train was launched on December 8th 2013, is serving passengers from Solo to Jakarta, and vice versa, going 9 hours per hour on the average. The average speed in a trip is between 60 to 100 kilometers per hour. Along the trip, the train also stops at several stations in Yogyakarta, Purwokerto, Cirebon, and Jakarta. Those stations are Klaten Station, Yogyakarta Lempuyangan Station, Wates Station, Jenar Station, Kutuarjo Station, Gombong Station, Purwokerto Station, Cirebon Prujakan Station, and Jatinegara Station.
Jaka Tingkir Train leaves Purwasari Station at 18.00 and arrives at Pasar Senen Station on 03.30 (the trip duration is about 9 hours and 45 minutes) every day. The train fare varies depending on the train sub-class, booking time, and which travel times the passenger wishes. The ticket costs around Rp170.000 to Rp230.000 per passenger.
For an air-conditioned Economy class train, Jaka Tingkir Train offers reasonable facilities. The train is transporting the passengers using a train that is consist of eight economy class carriages, one generator train, one dining cart, and a freight train. There are also some of the key facilities such as AC, environmentally friendly toilet, luggage space, 104 passenger seats arranged 2-2, power plug, and small desk beside the window. The seats are permanent (the backrest are fixed and cannot be adjusted) and are arranged to face each other. Blanket and pillow are obtainable with additional charge. Meals are available for purchase and can be enjoyed on the dining cart or at the passenger seats, with help from the train stewards.

The Train History
Jaka Tingkir Train was initially launched on December 8th 2013, left Solo Jebres Station. After the station becoming the north lane economy train stop and was planned to be a museum, Jaka Tingkir Train now leaves from Purwosari Station. The train commence was aimed to be an alternative train for supporting the Begawan Train. Jaka Tingkir Train was used to serve particular route only (for example Purwosari-Pasar Senen route on Monday and Pasar Senen-Purwosari route on Tuesday). But with the presence of a new series of train operated under PT INKA, Jaka Tingkir Train was finally can be fully operated daily with a fixed timetable.

Similar to Jayabaya Train, Jaka Tingkir Train is marked as one of the trains that were purchased by PT KAI without subsidy from Indonesian Ministry of Transportation. Specifically, the train is the ninth train of Kesepakatan livery and is the seventh train from the livery wave that has its own carriages that were purchased by PT KAI.
