Malang City has a number of fun attractions you can’t miss. At a walking distance from the station, you can make a stop at one of these following recommended spots.
Trunojoyo Park, just before Malang Kota Baru Station has already existed for a long time. Yet, the charm has recently been popular due to some facility improvements. In the beginning, it used to be an ordinary city park filled with grown trees. Lately, it's equipped with a playground, green space, fountain, library, and street vendors, recommended for families.
A mere few minutes of walk from Trunojoyo Park, it sits the legendary Klojen Market. To hit the spot, be sure to go ahead to Cokroaminoto Street from Taman Trunojoyo. The main reason why you should make a stop at the place is to have a taste for the delicious specialty called Pecel Klojen Malang at Warung Pecel Klojen, built in 1975.
About 300 meters, west of Malang Kota Baru Station, it stands the iconic landmark of Malang named Malang Square. The locals often call the site as Alun-Alun Bundar (the round square), having a round shape. Right at the center of the square, it sits Tugu Kota Malang (a beautiful historic monument). The night attraction seems more interesting than the daylight – the visitors cram the spot to watch the fountain show, full of spotlights.
