Operating under division VI Yogyakarta Operational Region, this station is the primary and biggest station in Yogyakarta. More familiar to the locals as Tugu Station, it is located on Pasar Kembang Street, Sosromenduran, Gedong Tengen, Yogyakarta, Special Region of Yogyakarta, 55271. Due to its position in the middle of tourist area, this classically designed building is also famous as one of Yogyakarta’s icon.
Yogyakarta station has a particular characteristic. It has a gateway on the eastern side, near Malioboro Tourist Area, with a sliding gate and a guardhouse. The gate is specifically dedicated for pedestrians, bikes, pedicabs, and horse carriages. At the end of the gate, there is a Steam Locomotive Monument which often attracts visitors to take pictures.
This station is more famous as Hall Station, the primary station of Bandung. Built in the center of the city, it is located between Pasirkaliki and Kebonjeruk. The building is divided into two sections and has two gates. The north gate is located on Kebon Kawung Street No. 43, reserved for executive and business passengers. Meanwhile, the south gate is located on Stasiun Timur Street No. 1, and reserved for economy class passengers. The station is easily accessible by a number of public transportations, as it stands side by side with the bus station. Bandung Hall Station also offers check-in service and boarding pass similar to the one on the airport. Designed with art-deco concepts, this station is the first one to adopt the system.
