As the capital of the province, Surabaya is the heart of East Java rapid economic growth. Historically, Surabaya was the largest city in the Dutch East Indies period in the 18th – 19th century. The distance between Surabaya and Yogyakarta is about 329 kilometers. The economy class train from Yogyakarta to Surabaya is connecting Lempuyangan Station and Surabaya Gubeng Station. Lempuyangan Station is located on Lempuyangan Street, Bausasran District, Danurejan, Yogyakarta 55224. The station was operated since March 2nd, 1872 is serving special route for economy train and local/commuter train passing through Yogyakarta. Even though only serving economy class train, Lempuyangan Station has already provided an online system ticketing, airport system check-in facility and spacious parking lot.
Surabaya Gubeng Station consists of two buildings with two different entrances so that there are two addresses: Stasiun Gubeng Street for the older building and Gubeng Masjid Street for the newer building. Special for this route, the economy train stops at the old station located at Gubeng Stasiun Street, Pacar Keling, Tambaksari, Surabaya 60272.
This largest station of the Surabaya Operational Area 8 is positioned in the city center, across the Surabaya Kapal Selam Monument. Most of the passengers come to the station by using public transport (if close by) and DAMRI Bus (if remote). As a large station, Gubeng has six routes to connect the south and east Surabaya route. The modern shopping center is located at Walikota Mustajab Street number 1, Ketabang, Genteng, Surabaya 60272. Located only 5-minute walk from the north of Gubeng Station. Operated since 2009, the 4.5-hectare commercial center combines a mall complex, office area, luxurious hotels, and apartments.
The tenants are local brands and high-class global brands such as Farmers 99 Market, Gramedia, The Body Shop, Adidas, and many more. Other than the shopping centers, Surabaya Grand City is also providing entertainments such as Cinema XXI and The Premiere, VIP Lounge, and even Samsat Corner.
Around 5-minute walk to the west from Gubeng Station; the tourists will reach Plaza Surabaya. Addressed on Pemuda Street number 30-37, Embong Kaliasin, Genteng, Surabaya 60721, the shopping center is well known as Delta Surabaya, neighboring Kapal Selam Museum.
