The History of The Train
KA Sawunggalih is a development service of KA Sawunggalih Ekonomi which has been operated since 1977. This train went through another development in 1984 through the launching one unit of Main Business Class Sawunggalih Train. The departure point of KA Sawunggalih from Jakarta was originally through the Jakarta Kota Station (BEOS). Along with the new policy in 2001, all Business class trains, including KA Sawunggalih Utama must depart from Pasar Senen Station. Since then there have been more and more changes. KA Sawunggalih Utama Pagi with the departure point of Jakarta changed its name to Kuto Kutojaya Business, while KA Sawunggalih Utama Night from the same departure point remains to be named KA Sawunggalih Utama. KA Sawunggalih Ekonomi had originally departed from Pasar Senen Station, then moved to Tanah Abang Station. The name was changed into KA Kutojaya EKonomi. Entering 2001, PT KAI (Persero) added the Executive train to the KA Sawunggalih Utama circuit that was previously only provided for Business class. On the other hand, Kuto Kutojaya Bisnis also added Executive class by the end of 2005. Shortly after, KA Kutojaya Business was no longer heard because its name was back to KA Sawunggalih Utama. In 2009, a special Executive Class KA Sawunggalih Pagi from Jakarta and Malam from Kutoarjo were eliminated. Currently, the additional services for Executive class are available only on KA Sawunggalih Malam from Jakarta and KA Sawunggalih Pagi from Kutoarjo.
The train series
