Babat Station

Babat Station (BBT) is located in Babat, Lamongan. This station is part of the Operational Area VIII Surabaya. It is located in the western part of Lamongan Regency. Not all trains passing at Babat Station will stop, the dominance of the train stops for Lamongan is still at Lamongan Station. An example is the Argo Bromo Anggrek and Sembrani trains which pass but do not stop at this station. Babat Station was first built in 1897 by the Dutch company Nederlandsch-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij (NIS). The line that was created initially was a line that would connect Gundih Station with a new station that was to be built in Surabaya at that time (now Pasar Turi Station). Due to budget constraints, the initial tracks were constructed using simple materials, namely wood, including Babat Station. Babat Station was finally inaugurated in 1900 along with the opening of the Babat - Lamongan route. In 1914, Babat Station made its first renovations to facilitate the transportation of goods and also to construct new lines.

Interesting Information About Babat Station

Second Renovation

The major renovation of the two Babat Stations was probably carried out in around 1920. Evidence of this is the similarity of the buildings between Babat Station and other stations built in 1920. There are similarities between Babat Station and Wonogiri Station and Tuban Station, such as the roof, building and canopies on the terrace and front and side platforms of the station.
