ibis Sydney Darling Harbour

We really enjoyed our stay at the IBIS Hotel Darling Harbour. This was our second stay at IBIS Hotel Darling Harbour. The hotel is a short walk away from the Pitt Street shopping mall, public Transport and restaurants. The Breakfast at the restaurant was really yummy and there were lots of Gluten Free Options.

Good value for the money.

Great location in Darling Harbour precinct and easy walk to the CBD and down to Circular Quay area. Checking in staff member clearly announced my room number in front of other nearby people. Sleep deprived and exhausted after being on the go for the previous 30+ hours meant I had to ask which way to turn once I got the room key. Very difficult to turn off the shower taps properly- particularly the hot tap, which could be a safety concern.

Breakfast menu excellent. Particularly loved the fried rice. Room small but clean. Staff very friendly

Rooms were small and cramped. They were also old and in need of refurbishment. The whole hotel could do with refurbishment. The thermostat (from the 80s probably) in my room didn’t work so had to get them to fix it the next day which they did. Bed was comfortable. Location is good.

Everything is very tired. It needs a full refurbishment. Shower leaked onto the floor everytime. Carpets are filthy. They don’t make the room up unless you request it. Location is very good. That’s the only upside.

Accomms good for price

Left a bit to be desired for a hotel in the city. Room was small, window open/close chain made a horrible noise as the top cover had come loose. The shower plumbing made thumping noises as I struggled to get the temperature right. The bed was comfy enough though. Breakfast was about right value for a buffet breakky.

Room was clean but a bit dated. Superb location and staff were polite and efficient.

Fairly tired property. It feels more two star than 3 star. I felt it was overpriced for the standard offered.

It was ok not the best A bit out of the way and staff were rude.

Absolutely horrific! The first room I was allocated was a tiny, micro-sized corner room that stank of black mould. The little man who checked me in was disgustingly rude - avoid at all costs!

Room felt so dirty and damp had a funky smell we had to be moved to a new room. Room was so small. Very budget don’t do it

For the price, you’re better off staying at the Aiden down the road. Same price for a brand new property. Ibis was dated and for $450 a night I’d expect something a little better quality.

Really the location is the reason to book this hotel. It's not especially well taking care of, shabby chic. The staff were non-communicative, almost unfriendly, but did make eye contact & say hello once. Seemed clean enough, no stains on bedding or the like. To be clear, the location is why I chose this hotel & would possibly choose it again.
