The beds were wonderful to sleep in. With technology where it's at these days, it's a shame that having streaming available on hotel room tvs isn't just standard practice. Hotel PPV cannot feel like anything less than a $ grab at this point. The room was clean overall, the bathroom however needs significant work. All fixtures (the sink faucet especially) need to be considered for replacement at this stage, hopefully they're next up on the reno list anyway. It is time to secure the elevators to guest key cards; no hotel in downtown Toronto should have elevators accessible to anyone capable of pushing buttons. One game and an air hockey table is not an arcade (The Chelsea's website calls it a studio - more appropriate). If one of the two pools is adults only, then you don't have 2 pools, you have an adult's pool and a family pool. The website is somewhat misleading in that regard. Specifying family and skyline and then only clarifying the skyline pool is 18+ feels deceptive. Just be transparent on the website. Breakfast was absolutely worth including and we were grateful we did! Ultimately a decent hotel stay, just too many post arrival discoveries that were unnecessary.

My room was 1528, two double beds - standard room. The bad: It was very noisy due to near-constant sirens outside, the air duct in the bathroom had dust from 1999, the toilet paper dispenser was the most infuriating thing I've ever experienced in a hotel room. The room was VERY over priced (I'm guessing due to FIFA being in town?). The front doors were a rotating door, but the openable doors to the sides of it were miserably aligned - an attempt to make it fancy just makes it feel stupid. Sheets on the bed felt cheap and were just a sandwich of sheet/comforter/sheet - not like a duvet with buttons or the like - just some sheets. This felt really weird.... The good: Parking was easy which made the $43/day cost acceptable given the area. The pool was nice, though not friendly for my 4 year old who couldn't touch anywhere, and the kid-looking pool was a hot tub. The facilities for the kids looked pretty cool, and the rest of the building was relatively clean. There were (at the time) two market/bodega style shops on the corner just down from it, as well as a Tims - but I also don't feel that what's around a building should necessarily be part of "the good" Will I go back? Yes. For that price ($1200 CAD for Fri-Mon)? No, not at all.
