The Lancaster Hotel

Good location, convenient to underground and close to Hyde Park. Hotel is not clearly signed, so note 63 as maps not clear. Staff very helpful, with luggage drop facility. Room sufficient in size and facilities. Noise from people on same floor and above caused small disturbance, but not significant. Generally a good base to stay for central London activities, would use again.

Great location - ten minutes walk to Paddington and the Heathrow Express, and far closer to underground stations and bus routes. There are several bars, restaurants and shops close by. In the corner of a quiet residential square, so there's no street noise. The lobby is small but comfortable and there isn't a bar. We were very happy with the English breakfast. We opted for the superior double room which was a good size, the bed was comfortable, and the ensuite had a flexi-hose shower in the bath with strong water pressure. The air-conditioning was first class and vital for hot July days.

I can only describe as adequate . No frills ! Quite expensive and did not meet my expectations for cost. My room was small and window did not open . No bedside lights so had to have full light on to read at night .Shower was fab as was air con.🙂 My son and Grandson had a much larger room with bottled water and bedside lights but frosted out windows. Breakfast was satisfactory - for the price. Area was safe and near to transport links . Plus they kept luggage go whole day to allow us to explore more before travel. .Staff were friendly . I would not book again as I would expect more for the price paid for 2 nights .

Great location, very quiet area, close to many Pubs, Restaurants and Paddington station.

Excellent overall experience!

The air conditioning did not work and the windows did not open. We were provided with a fan that did not work. Apart from that the bathroom tub was leaking and the bedding was not very clean. Overall the staff that were available were helpful but the manager was no where to be found. Overall would not recommend and we should be refunded for our stay but the room was “non-refundable” even with the issues.

Good access to both under ground and the bus network for getting around London. Easy to reach from Paddington pretty much a straight shot out from the main station and you’re there in 10-15 minutes. Room has great air con keeps you so cool in the crazy London heat which you will 100% need. Would and will stay again in the future when the price is right

This is an ideal hotel for a concert at Hyde Park! Cannot fault the staff and their customer service we had a slight issue with the website uplifting the payment due to receiving a new card and the staff allowed up to pay upon arrival. Room was clean however there was signs of improvements needed.

Staff helpful but AC did not work and there was no attempt for this to be fixed even after this was discussed with maintenance. The room wasn’t fully clean still had hairs on the floor and dusty room

Sadly the stay that my partner and I had at this hotel was not the greatest. The bedroom was situated close to the left which you could hear going up and down throughout the night quite loudly. The bathroom towels had hair in them from potentially previous users. The enamel on the bath was in the need of replacing. The air vents were incredibly dusty, and the Electrics in the hotel room were temperamental, bordering on potentially dangerous. The television in the hotel room supplied Did not work at all And you were unable to watch anything Even Just five minutes after having a shower. And there was a distinct lack of tea and coffee in the hotel room even though there was a machine and Kettle provided, and also no milk. This was passed on to the hotel staff whilst there and also I followed it up with a phone call with a promise that somebody would be in touch regarding this list of failures. I would highly recommend finding other property in the area more suitable, and competent. Very disappointed.

Booked a superior double room but the room we were given had curtains hanging off of the rails due to broken clips, the shower was on scorching hot after adjustment it cycled through warm, very hot, cold. And the bathroom radiator had open wiring exposed, we were not very impressed.

Perfect location as we were attending BST Hyde park. Hotel was clean although strangely packets of tea bags taped to the ceiling???!!! Staff where excellent couldn't fault them very helpful.

Hotel is in a great location, close to Paddington station, Hyde Park, restaurants and shops.We appreciated the air conditioning during the heat wave. Breakfast had lots of hot and cold options. Bed was comfortable and room had a small fridge. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only thing to note was building is old and room had old stained carpet and shower glass partition needed repair.

Lovely building and nice quiet area. Short walk to tube station, very easy to get too. Nice coffee shops close by. The room was tidy. Bed was comfortable and very spacious. Only things I would point out are kettle lid didn’t close properly, bathroom sink didn’t drain very fast and there were no spoons or wooden sticks to go alongside the coffee and tea facilities, so nothing to stir your beverage with, but these weren’t major issues. Air con worked well and the staff were lovely. Would stay again.

We stayed at The Lancaster Hotel from 4th–8th July. We chose this hotel because of its excellent location and, most importantly, because it advertised air conditioning during London’s heatwave. When we checked into Room 303, it was unbearably hot. We tried the air conditioning, but it wasn’t working. A staff member came to the room, asked us to wait 20 minutes, but it still didn’t work. After several trips to reception, we were simply offered fans. No one explained what the issue was, even though the rest of the hotel appeared to have working air conditioning. We were told we could move rooms the next day or leave for a refund, which was very disappointing after a long day of travelling. We were moved the following day, but had to leave our first room by 12pm and wait until 3pm for the new room to be ready. We understand the hotel was fully booked, but the lack of communication throughout was frustrating. When we later contacted the hotels.com, we were told there had been maintenance on our floor. This was never mentioned at check-in or during our conversations with reception. The corridor had air conditioning, so it seemed the issue was only with our room. While the fault may not have been the staff’s, the evening receptionist was dismissive, unhelpful and even appeared to smirk while we were explaining the problem. Overall, the situation was handled very poorly, and unfortunately we would not stay here again.

Nice hotel in nice area Unfortunately secure baggage storage wasn't a thing, and they just left them all in corridor. This would have bothered me if I had valuables. They could only give us one room key as had "run out" Air con didn't work and had to give us a fan, thank God they did as rooms were too hot. Overall very nice, friendly hotel and would stay again - but might think twice in summer!

Staff were great from start to finish, the room was ok but we couldn't have a proper shower as it was blocked and the water wouldn't run away so could of overflowed. There was no hot water in the morning. We wanted extra milk in the evening to have a drink but they had ran out and didn't give anything else

This is a good hotel in a lovely area - only fault would be - during the hot weather the room needs air-con as the fan provided doesn't cool the room down at all.
