I don't normally write reviews as I'd rather just deal with any issues directly with the establishment. When I did report the below to the front desk, twice, however I was once fobbed off and then second time my details were taken but, days later, no contact received. The Lancaster has had their chance so hence this review. Rom was small but serviceable and clean enough on the surface. The bathroom was where the real issues were however. The shower had noticeable stains, was old and could use a deep clean. The real problem however was the unbelievably noisy plumbing system. This was compounded by the fact that the toilet cistern had a slow leak meaning it refilled every 90 seconds, all day and all night, making sleep impossible. A frankly hellish stay and I would never recommend this hotel. Plus side was that the air con was good and the bed comfortable.

Nice hotel with very friendly staff. Everything was clean and aesthetically pleasing the only improvement I can say was that some carpets/curtains needed a replace as they looked like they had been previously stained, but they weren't bothersome to the experience. Very close to Paddington and Lancaster gate underground stations, and very close to Hyde Park which was handy! In a relatively nice area without much disturbance.

Definitely NOT 4 star! First room was dirty, broken and missing shower screen. Second room we was moved into was slightly better but still rubbish under bed from previous guests. Air conditioner was noisy and rattled, fridge broke , carpet and windows dirty. Breakfast is NOT worth £15pp by any stretch. It’s scrambled egg, over done Turkish bacon and mushrooms, some yoghurt, cereal and long life milk from a teapot. Staff aren’t very helpful and barely understood English. Location was good but you can’t call it 4 star just because of the location. VERY poor and have stayed in 1-2 star B&Bs that were much much better and cleaner. We booked a double superior and it was laughable. No bath robes, the seating area they state is literally a chair by the bed, no shampoos or anything. Staff seem to talk about you to one another in their own language and don’t try to hide it. For the price you can find MUCH MUCH better around the area. Avoid!!

Based on our stay for a night, we'd avoid this hotel again and wouldn't recommend. Firstly, do not get this hotel confused with the Lancaster Gate Hotel, which is on the same road. Unhelpfully there is no clear signage outside either. There is a logo for the parent company (but this doesn't clearly resonate to the Expedia listing etc). This is pushing a 3 star let alone 4. The shower was an inconsistent temperature (dropped and raised constantly). The towels had hairs that definitely were not ours and the shower was in generally bad condition. Most frustratingly, the Air Conditioning both smelt when on, but kept switching off over night. We were given a basement room and therefore had no other ventilation; this led to my partner waking up a few times in the night to switch it back on. The bedding was good quality, but overall the room was in need of renovation - the lighting flickered on and off, large stains on the floor and the desk, and simple house cleaning tasks are clearly not undertaken with the mugs being dirty (with one having a dead moth in it).

The room and bathroom were so outdated, very basic and dirty. The carpet was supposedly hoovered but was still full of hairs and other bits of goodness knows what. And this was after we had changed from the initial room given to us which was in a right state! Breakfast was appalling, we watched as other guests did exactly the same us, looked at the hot food in horror. Turkish bacon that was grey, scrambled egg that looked like a solid dirty mass and a tray of beans with a strange looking sauce covering them. All in all a horrific hotel, avoid at all costs.

The rooms were "OK" no frills. The hotel is lacking in proper maintenance. Door handles loss, lack of hot water for showers. The room attendants made the beds but didn't always take out the trash. They also didn't swap out or clean the mugs and glasses that were in the room. The staff was really nice and accommodating as much as they could be. The location of the hotel was fine.
