Although I had apparently booked a standard room it was presented in a very high specification and was more spacious than its m2 rating would suggest. Staff were polished and highly professional at all levels. I knew the breakfast was highly rated but that was exceeded and the venue inspiring.

A very clean, well maintained hotel. The room was surprisingly large compared to other hotels I have stayed at in Europe. Everything in the room was spotless and very comfortable. It’s a great location and valet parking makes checking in very easy and convenient. I would recommend The Grand York and would stay again

Gym very small. Used the spa the first evening with no cost, the following morning when I went to use it after gym was told it was £30 per person. When speaking with reception they said it is because it is new and it is on the website, I have checked website and it is in very small print when you are looking for it. I understand the payment however think that the hotel should inform you upon check in that there is a cost instead of finding out when you go to use the facilities. I also had a food credit automatically from Expedia however again was not informed of this and hadn’t realised until I received an email when I had left. When checking out and speaking to reception to say I was disappointed re the cost of spa and no info, there was no apology just simply it tells you on the website, not what you expect from a 5 star hotel. It was a reasonable stay and rooms clean and comfortable, however when trying to order room service qr code say 5050, this was constantly engaged so ended up just calling reception.

It was amazing, the Grand has really friendly and helpful staff from the minute you check in to when you are leaving the hotel. The room service was great with polite people delivering the food and the meals were delicious. They do breakfast in bed service which is so convenient and a real treat. The rooms are spacious with separate wash and bathrooms. Huge comfy bed. Top tier experience.

Room is not bad. But service has been dropped too much comparing with the last time I visited here. Staff is not that professional now, room service is not properly. I paid for the onsite parking, 49.5gbp per night, but can’t been guaranteed there would be a space reserved for you. But I had to pay for it. And nobody told me I need to pay for it when I was parking, only knew it when checked out. Totally, the management is a bit chaotic, service is not properly as I expected, it’s terrible. I loved this hotel when I stayed here last time. But this time, it was so disappointed.
