Da Nang Airport (DAD), officially Da Nang International Airport and known in Vietnamese as Sân bay Đà Nẵng, is the largest airport in central Vietnam. It lies in Hòa Cường ward, only about 3 km from the centre of Da Nang City. There are two passenger terminals: Terminal 1 (T1) for domestic flights and Terminal 2 (T2) for international flights. A covered walkway joins them in about five minutes on foot.

The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) runs the airport, while the international terminal is built and operated by a separate company, AHT. For travellers from Malaysia that split is mostly invisible. What matters is which terminal your flight uses, how to get into town, and the services you will find on each side.

Terminal 1 (domestic)

T1 handles all flights within Vietnam. Your e-ticket shows the airline and the terminal for your domestic flight. If you are connecting from an international arrival to a domestic flight, you will walk across to this building.

Terminal 2 (international)

T2 is the international terminal, so flights between Malaysia and Da Nang arrive and leave here. These airlines offer self check-in kiosks at T2:

Malaysian travellers will spot AirAsia, Batik Air Malaysia and Malaysia Airlines on that list. Airlines add and drop routes over time, so your booking is the final word on who operates your flight.

Walking between T1 and T2

The two terminals are linked by a covered walkway on the ground floor, about a five-minute walk. Coming out of T2 arrivals, turn right for T1. Leaving T1, turn left for T2.

Getting to and from Da Nang Airport

With the city centre around 3 km away, the trip into town is short by any road option. Allow extra time at busy hours. Fares are shown at the counter or in the app.

Taxi

Taxi stands are outside the arrivals hall, in the second car lane. The pick-up point is the same for both terminals.

City bus (Danabus)

Danabus city buses stop outside domestic arrivals at T1 and outside international arrivals at T2.

Bus to Hội An

Hai Van Bus runs a suburban service from the airport to Hội An. It boards outside the T2 arrivals hall.

Ride-hailing apps

At T1, ride-hailing cars pick up in front of arrivals. At T2, the pick-up point is in front of the glass building in the parking area.

Tour coaches

If you have booked a tour, the coaches wait in the tour coach parking area across the road from arrivals.

Parking at Da Nang Airport

Each terminal has its own car and motorbike park, directly opposite the building and open 24 hours a day. Both short and long stays are allowed, and the car park connects to the check-in hall. Rates are set by the airport, so check them on arrival.

Facilities at Da Nang Airport

Terminal layout

At T2, the check-in counters are on the second floor. You reach them through entrances A and B, or by the skybridge from the car park to the first floor.

Food and drink

Restaurants and coffee shops are available airside, after security, so you can eat close to your gate.

Smoking areas

At T2, smoking areas are in the public arrivals hall and on the second floor near entrances A and B. Airside, smoking rooms are at the ends of the second-floor corridors.

Luggage storage

Baggage storage is in the glass building in the parking area, which is useful if you want to explore the city before a late flight.

Money, medical help and charging

Currency exchange at T2 is in the ground-floor public arrivals hall and airside on the second floor. ATMs are in the public arrivals hall and in check-in zone A on the second floor. A pharmacy sits inside the ticket office near the T2 check-in counters, and medical assistance is available in both terminals. Free charging stations are found landside and airside in both buildings.

Families

Children's play areas and nursing rooms are in the departure areas, and baggage trolleys are free to use.

Tips for flying from Da Nang Airport

For international flights, airline check-in counters at T2 open 3 hours before departure, so that is a sensible time to aim for. For domestic flights, follow your airline's check-in advice.
