About Sofia

Visitors to the coastline or skiing resorts often neglect Bulgaria's pleasantly laid-off capital, but something unique is lacking. Sofia is a contemporary, young town, with onion churches, Ottoman mosques, and stiff Red Army memorials, all of which have an eclectic and exotic feeling. Sofia is a contemporary young village. During the scooping up of the metro, a treasure trove of Roman remains revealed about 2000 years earlier that the town was called' Serdica.' Away from the boulevards and houses, there are wide parks and well-kept gardens and a few minutes from the centre there are also the ski slopes and walking paths of the powerful Vitosha Mountain. Sofia can convince you to stay around and discover further, home to many of the most beautiful sights, galleries, hotels and clubs in Bulgaria.

What are the Top 3 Things to Do in Sofia?

Sofia is one of the best towns in Bulgaria that have a lot of beautiful places to be visited. You cannot miss Sofia when travelling around Bulgaria!

Alexander Nevski Cathedral – The cathedral is the second biggest in the Balkan region, and St. Alexander Nevski has space for 10,000 individuals. The cathedral dates back to 1880, just as much of Sofia's elegant architecture. It occurred immediately after the overthrow of the Ottomans and the restoration of Bulgaria. Originally it was devoted to the Russian troops who died during that release. Look up the roof of the primary cupola inside, which has a Lord God Sabbath painting. The vault has a large range of icons and is accessible for tourists.

Vitosha Boulevard – Vitosha Boulevard, the city's most beautiful road, is home to all fashion shops and stylish homes. The restaurants along the footpath are indoor and the lampposts, benches, and kiosks have been renovated in a smart new design in latest years to commemorate early Bulgarian Revival. It makes them a pleasant spot for a few hours

Boyana Church – This UNESCO heritage site is on the lesser hills of Vitosha Mountain. In a forest of large softwood forests, in a quiet area of the town, the place of this old church is almost dreamy. It is where the fantastic frescos in the interior are represented 200 years before Renaissance artists did the same. They show some 240 historical and Bible images realistically. Modern pictures of two Bulgarian leaders, Zar Konstantin Assen, and Tzar Koloyan, next to their mothers are featured in the paintings by an unidentified artist.
