Excellent hotel, well located close to the metro, with great facilities and gracious, professional staff. The restaurant on the 9th floor is superb, with tremendous food and amazing views. Worth a particular mention is Katarina who is friendly, courteous and professional. Our server last night (sorry, I didn't get her name) was first class too. I would happily recommend the Stanley to anyone visiting Athens.

I was a little concerned before arrival after reading some negative reviews. After staying at hotel for a full week my wife and I had zero complaints. Location, staff and cleanliness were great. The pool and the views were amazing. I recommend to anyone staying in Athens.

Stanley's a lovely hotel that is positioned slightly away from Athens nightlife. Its easy to catch the Metro from the station near the Stanley to other parts of Athens. We did notice at the bottom of the building there were people who were begging for money and It's probably not the safest area to walk around late at night. So getting a taxi or catching the Metro is a great option for travel. We'd initially booked a standard room and found that it was small and slightly claustrophobic. Our standard room had a view of the air-conditioning units with no view. We upgraded to an executive room which was much better. The executive room was much larger and provided better facilities. The executive room also allowed access to an executive area where you can relax in the afternoon and have a free beer, wine and chips. The executive room also included breakfast on the 9th floor which had a great selection of fabolous food and a view of the Parthenon. Overall it is a nice hotel, but if you can upgrade to a superior or executive room do so. The cost to upgrade is worth the money. The Stanley is a little away from the nightlife and if you like walking around looking at shops at night you may want to consider something closer to Omonoia square.

Hotel was nice and conveniently located but looked sketchy at night although everyone says it’s safe and the homeless won’t bother you. Stay vigilant at night and you should be good. Room was large and had nice jacuzzi tub but we were in the suite or something. Awesome views from the roof top! Would stay here again

Not much to like here. Room not as nice as the photos. It’s a dated hotel. Pool on rooftop was overcrowded and no sun chairs available. Pool water was dirty so we avoided going in. But the worst part of the hotel was the location, it’s in a really bad part of town. Saw two drug addicts on sidewalk just outside the hotel smoking crack or fentanyl as we walked out in the evening.

Heard some good things regarding the hotel so we were exited to arrive and see what it was about. On a map it looked a bit away from the acropolis, but it was a simple subway ride for 1.20 Euros and the station is literally below the hotel. Let’s start with the breakfast which is AMAZING, delicious and fresh. From breads, fruit, yogurts, and hot prepped food such as eggs, bacon, sausage etc all were delicious. What a great way to start the day with a view before heading out to explore. Rooftop restaurant was good as well but what makes that is the views at night time. The food was good but a lil over priced BUT an open mindset and again the view was worth the price. We didn’t use the pool but it looked refreshing and also with a view. Our room came with the executive room access and there was great wine, cold beers, and soft drinks after a long day of exploring we stopped by to cool off and relax. Highly recommend to use if it come with your room. Another plus is the hop on and off bus stops right in front of the hotel as well. Stop by for a coffee and pastry if you wish at the Bread factory. Great prices and such good fresh baked goods. Now onto the front desk help.. let’s just say they could use a little more of the welcome bug BUT not too bad. Young lady who checked us in was nice others can learn. Lastly the AC in Room 511 wasn’t the best, but we made it work. Overall I highly suggest you give this place a try as it made our trip to Athens GREAT!

The staff and room we had were fabulous for our family of four. We did a quick night before flying out. The pool area looks very appealing online however was so packed it wasn't usable when we were there (Too many people crammed into the pool, no available sun beds, people everywhere). The food in the restaurant and service was great. Breakfast on level 9 was ok but very busy when we went so service was slow.

Room was acceptable, our room was small but useable. Staff was very accommodating. Our room came twin beds which I wasn’t happy with but the staff had a double mattress cover put on to make it more comfortable. The pool is wonderful but it is a family pool so don’t be surprised. It is also very sunny up the so make sure you have proper sunscreen on ( the only place on our trip I burned!). Don’t let the area fool you there is plenty of sites for good coffee and food close. Overall I would say the Stanley is the place to stay in Athens!

Room that was given to us was very small. It had very weird smell. Bathroom was very small. No tissue paper. Breakfast was good But when we joined our tour company room was better but still very basic amenities. Had to request for Kleenex and shower caps. Location is not in the best area.

The pool is a must for the hot summer days. The roof terrace is perfect. Plenty of chairs, a bar and a refreshing pool. The rooms are renovated and confortable. 20-25 min walk from Plaka but you can find coffee shop and restaurants near by if you do not want to walk

This was our third time staying at The Stanley, and we've always specifically chosen this hotel because of the rooftop pool and the restaurant's past willingness to work with our child's nut allergy. On previous visits, the Cloud 9 restaurant staff happily answered ingredient questions and made simple modifications (ex: removing a sauce), so our child could safely enjoy a meal. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. We went to Cloud 9 for the lovely dinner we've come to know; despite explaining we understood the kitchen couldn't guarantee against cross-contamination, we were repeatedly told there was virtually nothing they would serve our child. We weren't asking for guarantees, only whether dishes contained nuts or if a minor ingredient could be omitted. We ultimately left the hotel at 10:30 p.m. to find a restaurant still serving food. The next day poolside, we ordered a sushi roll without yuzu sauce and were again told no modifications were possible, leaving us with no food options. Since The Stanley doesn't allow outside food, we had no choice but to leave the hotel again for food. The following morning, I spoke with front desk but there was little effort to address the issue beyond comping me a €5 coffee. We wish we could continue staying at The Stanley, but knowing the restaurant is unwilling to provide basic ingredient info and accommodate very simple requests for guests with food allergies, we unfortunately must find another hotel for future visits.

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Athens. The executive room was worth the upgrade to get lounge access. The rooftop views are as amazing as the pictures look but it does get very very busy!
