The Stanley

Would not consider this 4 star hotel. Definitely felt like an airport-stop by hotel. Only great amenity is the pool, otherwise, very outdated rooms and interior of the building. Staff very polite and were kind to switch our rooms after we saw condition of our original room. Housekeeping is great and take good care of your space. However, this is not hotel related, but this is not the greatest area of Athens to stay in- this was first time I felt unsafe walking around in the evening, with 2 kids. Definitely would not recommend for families.

Was wonderful place

The hotel was very nice. The pool would be considered quite small based on how many chairs they have out. I liked that they added extra chairs during the day but then was able to remove them for dinner service. Staff was very helpful and nice. The only thing that I would recommend to the hotel to change is the bed options. Their option is 2 twins or a queen, however this is not accurate. They have two twin beds in the room that are pushed together to make a queen. You can push or separate as needed. Even when pushed together, there is a gap in between and due to the nature of those beds, the mattresses often slides off the bottom. I would have preferred either stationary option of bed.

Nice hotel

Best breakfast in a hotel ever

The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great and so was the pool. An amazing 360 degree view of the city. Would definitely return.

The cleanliness of the common areas, such as corridors, was poor…main room was okay but bathroom was below par. My main disappointment was the attitude and welcome of the reception staff member upon checking- George (Shift Leader) was extremely abrupt and dealt with the reception and checkin in a rushed and perfunctory manner. Extremely poor and in contrast to our experience elsewhere in Athens and Greece..a shame for our final night of 15 in the holiday. Breakfast was okay - pool area nice but heavily congested…the experience in general was far below that of the Divani Caravel stay at the beginning of the trip.

Very good quality overall: clean, comfortable, and great value for the price. Just a heads-up; the elevator can be quite slow. No small towels in the room, no furniture or chairs on my room’s patio. Booked an "executive" room but there was nothing special about it and the access to the "executive" lounge was useless; no snacks or drinks really. It didn’t enhance my stay in any way.

Excellent hotel, well located close to the metro, with great facilities and gracious, professional staff. The restaurant on the 9th floor is superb, with tremendous food and amazing views. Worth a particular mention is Katarina who is friendly, courteous and professional. Our server last night (sorry, I didn't get her name) was first class too. I would happily recommend the Stanley to anyone visiting Athens.

Everything was good

Stanley's a lovely hotel that is positioned slightly away from Athens nightlife. Its easy to catch the Metro from the station near the Stanley to other parts of Athens. We did notice at the bottom of the building there were people who were begging for money and It's probably not the safest area to walk around late at night. So getting a taxi or catching the Metro is a great option for travel. We'd initially booked a standard room and found that it was small and slightly claustrophobic. Our standard room had a view of the air-conditioning units with no view. We upgraded to an executive room which was much better. The executive room was much larger and provided better facilities. The executive room also allowed access to an executive area where you can relax in the afternoon and have a free beer, wine and chips. The executive room also included breakfast on the 9th floor which had a great selection of fabolous food and a view of the Parthenon. Overall it is a nice hotel, but if you can upgrade to a superior or executive room do so. The cost to upgrade is worth the money. The Stanley is a little away from the nightlife and if you like walking around looking at shops at night you may want to consider something closer to Omonoia square.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I ate lunch & dinner here several times and loved it. And the pool was awesome! I would definitely come back. Staff was very nice and helpful too!!

Hotel was nice and conveniently located but looked sketchy at night although everyone says it’s safe and the homeless won’t bother you. Stay vigilant at night and you should be good. Room was large and had nice jacuzzi tub but we were in the suite or something. Awesome views from the roof top! Would stay here again

I was a little concerned before arrival after reading some negative reviews. After staying at hotel for a full week my wife and I had zero complaints. Location, staff and cleanliness were great. The pool and the views were amazing. I recommend to anyone staying in Athens.

It was beautiful, clean the best experience!!

Not much to like here. Room not as nice as the photos. It’s a dated hotel. Pool on rooftop was overcrowded and no sun chairs available. Pool water was dirty so we avoided going in. But the worst part of the hotel was the location, it’s in a really bad part of town. Saw two drug addicts on sidewalk just outside the hotel smoking crack or fentanyl as we walked out in the evening.
