Paka is located about 100 kilometres to the south of Kuala Terengganu and it is known as a coastal town facing the South China Sea in the state of Terengganu, Malaysia. This town is popularly known as the home for the largest power station in Malaysia run by the national power company, Tenaga Nasional and also listed as the third place in Malaysia with the highest living cost. Rantau Abang is a small village which used to be known for its Leatherback Sea Turtle nesting. Every year during the months of May to August, the turtles would come ashore and lay their eggs. However, the number of sea turtles that lay their eggs has severely decreased in recent years.
