Cameron Highlands occupies a total area of 712 square kilometres and is located at the northwestern tip of Pahang. From north to south, the Cameron Highlands roughly encompass Tringkap, Brinchang, Tanah Rata, Ringlet and their surrounds. All are tucked at elevations ranging from 1,100 metres to 1,600 metres above sea level. During the day, the temperature occasionally rises above 25°C, while at night, it can drop to as low as 12°C. This cold climate encourages groups of visitors to pick strawberries and sip tea here each weekend. Despite massive development in the last decade, Cameron Highlands remains a top rated destination for those who wanting to escape the hot weather of the lowlands. Known for being the main agricultural region in the nation, expect to find an abundance of vegetable farms scattered all over the highlands. If you are driving to get to Cameron Highlands, it can be accessed by road via Tapah, Simpang Pulai, Gua Musang or Sungai Koyan.
A must visit destination in Cameron Highlands due to its scenic view and idyllic setting, this tea plantation was founded in 1929 by J A Russel, a British businessman. There is a visitors’ centre, where you can watch a video on the estate’s history, a giftshop that sells every version of Boh tea as well as a pleasant cafe where you can sip tea while enjoying a perfect view of the plush plantation below.
This museum occupies a basement within Kok Lim Strawberry Farm, tucked next to the main road shortly after leaving Brinchang town towards Kea Farm. Established in 2007 by a young avid collector, See Kok Shan, visiting Time Tunnel is a wonderful way to explore the rich history of Cameron Hioghlands. It is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm with the entrance fee of RM5 for adults and RM3 for children.
Get captivated by a sea of colourful blooming flowers and have a good time picking fresh flowers of your choice at Lavender Garden. Located at Tringkap, this garden is indeed, a beautiful place with breathtaking and romantic ambient. You will get to enjoy various unique lavender inspired cuisines at the Lavender Cafe here. The entrace fee is RM8 for adults and RM5 for children. There is also parking lots available for coaches and cars.
