Chai Leng Park Penang is a neighbourhood in Seberang Jaya. Named after its developer, Gan Chai Leng who developed the area out of mangrove land in the 1960s, Chai Leng Park or Jalan Gan Chai Leng is famous for its local food feast, apart from being the one of the busiest business centres in Penang. Its a great crossing over to Penang Island from Butterworth while enjoying an impressive panorama and moment through out the ferry ride. For a backpacker, this will be the cheapest and convenient mode of transportation to Penang Island. But if you are here for a family trip, this would be a significant experience, especially with kids. Penang Ferry Terminal operates a fleet of four ferries on a daily basis with 20 – 30 minutes arrival intervals from 5.20 am to 10.00p.m and one ferry from 10.00 pm to 1.00a.m with an arrival interval of 1 hour.
