This medical centre is a private medical centre owned by Mestika Unik Sdn Bhd and is located at Jalan Rock in Kuching town. Timberland Medical Centre or TMC started its operation in April 1994 and since then, there are 85 beds available and has provided the best and excellent medical care. Among the physical examination available in this medical centre are Electrocardiogram (ECG), Chest X-ray, Laboratory Profile TM 59 (40 tests), Haematology Profile, Fasting Blood Sugar, Renal Profile, Liver Function Test, Lipid Profile, Diabetes, Thyroid and Hepatitis B screening, Urine Analysis, Blood Grouping Venereal Disease (STD) and Uric Acid Bone Metabolism Study. TMC is now planning a major restructuring exercise and improvement to its facilities and services by bringing in more Specialists and experts of various disciplines to provide more choices to the public.

Cat Museum

The World’s first Cat Museum is located at Petra Jaya in the Kuching City North City Hall. It has four galleries covering a total area of 1,035 square metres. Cat lovers will find a range of 2000 exhibits, photos, feline art and cat souvenirs, artifacts, statues about cats from all over the world. The responsibilities of the Cat Museum are to carry out research, collection, presentation, documentation, promotion, publication, education and awareness of historical heritage, cultures and the natural environment. There is also an Egyptian mummified cat as one of the exhibits in the museum. A fee of RM3 is charged for camera and RM5 for a video camera available here.

Kuching Esplanade

The Kuching Esplanade is situated on the southern bank of the Sarawak River which located the western and eastern part of the city centre. It is a 900 metres long esplanade with arranged park zones and diners and also nearby Sarawak Steamship Building, Square Tower and Chinese Museum. There are activities such as kayaking, river boats which available whole day. If you come by taxi or car from Kuching city, this place is only about 20 minutes away. It open daily from 8am to 5pm and the entrance fee is free.

Sarawak Orchid Garden

This garden is situated next to Astana which is the official Residence of the State Governor, across the Sarawak River and opposite of the Kuching Waterfront. The 3.54 acres garden commenced in November 2007 and was completed in May 2009 has a collection of 75,000 orchids from 65 epiphytic and terrestrial species and hybrid growing in open and shaded areas resembling their natural habitats. The garden also features the world-renowned Borneo Orchids, known for its beauty and potentials as horticultural plants.
