Overview of Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands

Nestled on a lush seven-acre hillside between Tanah Rata and Brinchang, Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands stands as one of the most established highland retreats in Pahang. Perched approximately 1,800 metres above sea level, this 4-star resort has welcomed travellers since 1985, offering a cool mountain escape surrounded by rolling tea plantations, misty peaks, and verdant tropical rainforest. The property comprises seven blocks of walk-up accommodation, housing over 150 rooms and suites that cascade along the natural contours of the hillside — giving virtually every room a private balcony with sweeping views of the Cameron Highlands landscape.

What sets Strawberry Park Cameron apart from other highland stays is the unmistakable sense of arriving somewhere genuinely tucked away. A slip road near the Cameron Highlands Golf Course leads you off the main thoroughfare and into the resort grounds, where the air is noticeably cooler and the sounds of the surrounding jungle replace the bustle of Brinchang town. The resort's Tudor-inspired architecture, complete with timber-framed facades and pitched rooflines, evokes a charming countryside aesthetic that suits the highland setting perfectly. Inside, the atmosphere is one of relaxed warmth — crackling fireplaces in select rooms, polished wooden floors throughout the suites, and dining outlets that range from casual all-day fare to candlelit fine dining.

Whether you are planning a romantic weekend getaway, a multi-generational family holiday, or simply a break from the lowland heat, Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands offers a well-rounded highland experience. With an indoor swimming pool, a Balinese-inspired spa, multiple restaurants and lounges, and direct proximity to the region's most popular attractions, the resort serves as both a comfortable base for exploration and a destination in its own right.

Room Types at Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands

Accommodation at Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands is spread across six distinct room categories, each designed to suit different travel styles and group sizes. All rooms feature satellite television, complimentary WiFi, an attached bathroom with hot and cold shower, and a private balcony — a hallmark of the resort that ensures every guest can step outside and take in the highland air.

Studio Room

The Studio Room is the resort's entry-level accommodation, measuring a comfortable 44.6 square metres. It is well suited for couples or solo travellers seeking a straightforward, fuss-free highland stay. The room features a clean, functional layout with a private balcony overlooking the resort's landscaped gardens. Unlike the suite categories, the Studio Room does not include tea and coffee making facilities or an in-room fridge, so guests who prefer to brew their own morning cuppa may wish to consider upgrading. The attached bathroom is fitted with complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer, and the room comes with a flat-screen satellite television for quiet evenings in.

Tioga Deluxe Suite

Stepping up in both size and refinement, the Tioga Deluxe Suite offers 55.2 square metres of living space with polished wooden flooring that adds a touch of warmth to the highland setting. Available in King or Twin bed configurations, this suite features a generous three-seater sofa, a large coffee table, and a private balcony with views stretching across the valley below. In-room amenities include an electronic safe, a flat-screen satellite television, tea and coffee making facilities, and a mini fridge. The Tioga Deluxe is an excellent choice for couples who want a bit more room to spread out, or for friends travelling together who prefer the twin setup.

Fresno Family Suite

Designed with families firmly in mind, the Fresno Family Suite spans 74.6 square metres and features two separate bedrooms connected by a shared living area with a relaxation daybed. The bedrooms can be configured with queen-size beds, or alternatively one queen and two single beds, accommodating up to four adults. Polished wooden flooring runs throughout, and the suite comes with a private balcony offering views that may encompass the surrounding mountain range, heritage colonial bungalows, the King's palace, or Brinchang town — depending on the block and floor. The bathroom is finished with black granite flooring and a distinctive polka-dot feature wall, adding a playful yet tasteful design touch.

Fresno Family Suite with Themed Corner

A variant of the standard Fresno, this suite includes a dedicated themed corner for children — making it one of the most thoughtfully family-oriented room options at Strawberry Park Cameron. Families can choose from several imaginative themes including Under the Sea, Wild Safari, Dragon Fantasia, and Treasure Island. Each themed corner features colourful wall murals and a cosy tent where younger guests can play and sleep, transforming one corner of the suite into a miniature adventure zone. The rest of the suite mirrors the standard Fresno layout at 74.6 square metres, with two bedrooms, a living area, and a private balcony. This room type is ideal for families with children under ten who want to make the highland holiday truly memorable.

Shasta Family Suite

The largest of the family-oriented suites, the Shasta Family Suite measures an expansive 84 square metres and is purpose-built for larger groups and multi-generational family stays. The layout includes two generously sized bedrooms — the master with a king bed and an en-suite bathroom, and the second bedroom with a queen bed — plus two additional single-bed rooms branching off a large central living room. This configuration comfortably accommodates up to six guests, making it one of the most spacious options at Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands. A private balcony provides sweeping views over the resort's landscaped grounds and the surrounding highland scenery.

Penthouse

Crowning the resort's accommodation offering, the Penthouse spans an impressive 117 square metres and represents the most prestigious room at the property. It features two large balconies — one overlooking the Cameron Highlands Golf Course and the other offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountain range. The living room is equipped with a fireplace, which is lit during turndown service, creating an atmosphere of genuine highland luxury. The Penthouse includes ample space for entertaining or simply relaxing in privacy, and is suited for special occasions, honeymoons, or travellers who want to experience Strawberry Park Cameron at its finest.

Facilities and Amenities

Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands offers a well-rounded selection of facilities that take advantage of the highland climate. The indoor swimming pool is maintained at room temperature and is open daily from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm, providing a refreshing activity for guests regardless of weather conditions. An outdoor children's playground is open from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm, while the indoor Kids Corner operates extended hours until 10.00 pm — giving parents a welcome option for evening entertainment.

For guests looking to stay active, the Brunswick Gym is located on the lower ground floor and is open from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm daily. The resort also maintains a tennis court and a pickleball court, both available from 8.00 am to 7.00 pm, as well as table tennis facilities. Those seeking relaxation rather than exertion can book a treatment at the Wild Orchidaceae Spa, a Balinese-inspired wellness space offering traditional massage techniques combining acupressure, skin rolling, and essential oils. Hot stone massage and aromatherapy treatments are also available, with the spa open daily from 11.00 am to 10.00 pm, with the last treatment commencing at 8.30 pm.

Practical amenities include complimentary WiFi throughout the resort, free on-site parking with ample space, an electric vehicle charging station with a two-hour maximum per session, and a self-service laundry room operating from 7.00 am to 11.00 pm. Luggage storage and currency exchange services are also available at the front desk.

Location and Getting There

Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands is located along the hillside between Tanah Rata and Brinchang, roughly three kilometres from Tanah Rata town centre. The resort sits at one of the highest elevations in Cameron Highlands, offering cooler temperatures and more secluded surroundings than properties located directly in the townships.

From Kuala Lumpur, the drive to the resort takes approximately two and a half hours via the Karak Highway and the Simpang Pulai route, covering a distance of around 210 kilometres. This is the most popular approach for self-driving guests. From Ipoh and Sultan Azlan Shah Airport, the journey is approximately 110 kilometres and takes around two hours. Travellers arriving from Penang can expect a drive of roughly three to four hours via the North-South Expressway.

For those relying on public transport, express buses run from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) in Kuala Lumpur to Tanah Rata Bus Terminal several times daily, with the journey taking approximately five hours. From the bus terminal, the resort is a short taxi or e-hailing ride away. Once at the resort, a private vehicle is recommended for exploring the wider Cameron Highlands area, although taxis can be arranged through the front desk.

Nearby attractions include the Cameron Highlands Golf Course, just a five-minute drive away, the lively Brinchang Night Market within ten minutes, the popular Butterfly Farm at around twenty minutes, and the scenic Sungai Palas BOH Tea Plantation roughly forty-five minutes by car. The entrance to Cameron Highlands Jungle Trail No. 1 is approximately 2.7 kilometres from the resort grounds.

Dining at Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands

One of the genuine strengths of Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands is the breadth of its dining programme. The resort operates seven food and beverage outlets, an unusually comprehensive selection for a highland property of this size.

Brasserie '85 is the resort's all-day dining restaurant, located on the lobby floor and open from 7.00 am to 9.45 pm. It serves a wide-ranging menu of local Malaysian favourites and Western dishes, making it the go-to spot for most meals. Breakfast is served here daily as a buffet featuring both continental and international selections, with adult pricing starting from approximately RM 51 and children's pricing from approximately RM 30. Speciality offerings at Brasserie '85 include themed set dinners such as the Muhibbah Set Dinner and the Dapur Tok Mak Buffet Dinner. Room service is also available through this outlet.

Tudor Grill, located on the mezzanine floor, is the resort's fine dining option. Open from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm, it offers chef's speciality dishes and a candlelit set dinner experience that elevates the highland evening. The accompanying Tudor Lounge opens from 5.00 pm to 10.45 pm and serves cocktails and beverages in a relaxed atmosphere with background music — an ideal pre-dinner or nightcap venue.

The Lantern Chinese Restaurant occupies the lower ground floor and serves authentic Chinese cuisine, from sizzling wok-fried dishes to bubbling hotpots. It is open for both lunch (12.00 pm to 2.00 pm) and dinner (6.30 pm to 9.30 pm). Meanwhile, the Coffee Bar and Lounge in the lobby provides a more casual daytime retreat from 11.00 am to 9.30 pm, where guests can settle beside the fireplace with a hot drink. The Garden Terrace offers al fresco dining from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm, weather permitting. For late-night entertainment, the Wildberry Club features karaoke and a lively atmosphere from 9.00 pm until 2.00 am nightly.

Why Stay at Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands

A genuinely secluded highland setting. Unlike many Cameron Highlands hotels that sit along the main road in Tanah Rata or Brinchang, Strawberry Park Cameron occupies its own hillside enclave, screened from traffic noise and surrounded by mature tropical vegetation. The result is an immediate sense of escape that is difficult to replicate at more centrally located properties.

Exceptional variety of room configurations. With six room types ranging from a 44.6 sqm Studio to a 117 sqm Penthouse with a working fireplace, the resort caters to virtually every travel scenario — from solo retreats and couple getaways to large family holidays requiring multiple bedrooms. The themed children's corners in the Fresno Family Suite variant are a particularly thoughtful touch for families with young children.

Outstanding dining diversity. Seven on-site food and beverage outlets mean guests never need to leave the resort for meals if they prefer not to. The range spans from casual all-day dining and authentic Chinese cuisine to candlelit fine dining and a late-night karaoke lounge, offering a level of culinary variety that is rare for a highland resort of this size.

Comprehensive leisure facilities. Between the indoor pool, the Balinese spa, the gymnasium, tennis and pickleball courts, and dedicated children's play areas, the resort offers enough activities to fill a multi-day stay without venturing off the property. This makes it a particularly strong choice for rainy-day contingencies, which are not uncommon in the highlands.

Established reputation and heritage charm. Operating since 1985, Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands brings decades of hospitality experience and a distinctive Tudor-inspired architectural character that many newer properties lack. There is a timeless, lodge-like quality to the public spaces that complements the cool highland climate.

Tips for Booking Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands

Book early for weekends and school holidays. Cameron Highlands is one of Malaysia's most popular domestic getaway destinations, and Strawberry Park Cameron fills up quickly during weekends, public holidays, and school break periods. If you have your heart set on a particular room type — especially the Penthouse or the themed Fresno Family Suite — it is advisable to book several weeks in advance through Traveloka to secure availability and the best rates.

Consider midweek stays for better value. Rates at Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands are typically more favourable from Sunday through Thursday. A midweek stay not only offers potential savings but also means quieter resort grounds, shorter wait times at the restaurants, and a more relaxed poolside experience.

Request a higher-floor room for the best views. Since the resort is built across seven walk-up blocks on a hillside, room views can vary significantly depending on your block and floor. When booking, you can note a preference for a higher floor or a specific orientation — mountain-facing rooms tend to offer the most dramatic scenery, while golf course views are available from certain Penthouse and suite positions.

Pack layers and warm clothing. Highland temperatures in Cameron Highlands frequently dip to between 15°C and 20°C, and can drop further at night, particularly during the rainy season from November to February. The cool climate is part of the appeal, but guests coming from Kuala Lumpur or other lowland cities are often caught off guard. A light jacket and long trousers are recommended, especially if you plan to enjoy the Garden Terrace dining or the outdoor playground with children.

Take advantage of Traveloka bundle deals. When booking Strawberry Park Resort Cameron Highlands on Traveloka, look out for bundled offers that combine accommodation with breakfast or spa credits. These packages can offer meaningful savings compared to booking dining and spa treatments separately at the resort, and help you plan your budget more effectively for the trip.

The overall cleanliness of the room was below acceptable standards. The furniture was poorly maintained and felt outdated, as if sourced from second-hand stores many years ago. The in-room safe was not functioning properly. Breakfast was extremely disappointing. The food was cold, the selection was very limited, and birds were eating directly from the buffet tables, which raised serious hygiene concerns. We dined at three different restaurants during our stay, and the food quality was consistently low. The professionalism of the service staff was also lacking. On one occasion, I observed staff carrying food with their thumbs inside the bowls, directly touching the food. Service was difficult due to communication issues. Several waiters avoided eye contact when we tried to request items, and some did not speak English, making basic interactions challenging. The only positive aspect of this hotel is its beautiful location and breathtaking landscape. Unfortunately, this alone does not compensate for the poor standards in cleanliness, food quality, and service. I cannot recommend this hotel.

The place is good enough for a one-night stay for a big group such as a family of 6 like us. The international breakfast buffet also have a great variety that cater to various taste buds and someone who like to experience various cuisine like me. I enjoyed the room temperature swimming pool as well, especially in the chilling weather in Cameron. However, the room conditions is not fantastic and hence, it is good for just one to two nights. The customer service is good enough.

Not for those without own transport. There is no grab car in cameron highlands. Taxi needs to book in advance. Road lead to hotel steep and narrow. Not safe to walk to city centre

Staff was accommodative and allowed me to move my room when I was unhappy with the mountain view I had requested. The male manager was very kind to quickly give us another room even after we had moved in.

Booked a King Room suite and was given two singles instead. The spa was closed while I was here, which was one of the main reasons I opted to stay here. Room was cold and no heater in room. Woken up to sound of construction. What a mess!

we left a small bag in the room when we checked out. the service staff notified us about half an hour later through whatsapp when we were on our way to the next destination. we managed to turn back and retrieve the bag. the staff there was very helpful. Traffic is terrible on weekends with heavy jam. This was our 2nd trip to the Cameron Highlands. The traffic was as bad as 6 years ago when we went there for the 1st time.
