Lampang Provincial Capital is a medium-sized Thai city located 100 kilometres from Chiang Mai, accessible by road and train. Lampang features some excellent temples and traditional wooden buildings. Best time to fly from Manila to Lampang

The best times to visit Lampang for ideal weather is 19 November to 11 February. The busiest month for tourism in Lampang, Thailand in January, followed by February and July. Prices for hotels and flights will be most expensive during these months, though you can save if you purchase well in advance. Tourists are unlikely to visit Lampang in May. Those willing to visit at these times will likely find it the least expensive month.

Lampang Airport – Lampang Airport (LPT) is a smaller airport in Thailand. You can fly to 2 destinations with two airlines in scheduled passenger traffic. The route with the most departures is the route to Bangkok (DMK) with an average of 24 flights from Lampang every week which is over 57% of all weekly departures. As far as we know, there are no international flights from Lampang. Nok Air and Bangkok Airways are the only airlines operating here were the first accounts for 57% of all departures. The route with the longest flight time from Lampang (LPT) is to Bangkok (BKK) and takes about 1 hour 35 minutes.

  • Thai Elephant Conservation Center - Located on the left-hand side while driving from Chiang Mai to Lampang, it was established in 1993 under the Royal Patronage. In a beautiful forest, more than 50 Asian elephants are cared for there. In addition to being an enjoyable touristic experience, this place also proudly houses six of the ten white elephants of HM King Bhumibol in the Royal Elephant Stables. You can see the bathing of the elephant, the show, the hospital or stay longer, learning how to become an elephant trainer.
  • Wat Phra That Lampang Luang – It is among Thailand's most beautiful temples. It was built on a hilltop with picturesque surroundings, during the reign of Princess Chama Devi, about 650-700 A.D. The northern and eastern section has step flights up with a balustrade adorned with a multi-headed Naga that reveals a Burmese connection. At the foot of the escalator stand two magnificent lion statues.
  • Wat Chaleomprakiat - Wat Chaloemprakiat is perched high on top of a rocky hill in the countryside of Lampang, almost 1,000 meters above sea level, providing you with a truly unique Buddhist shrine and temple visit experience. Besides the location of the temple is the pinnacle of its emerging fame, here below you will get a spectacular and panoramic view of the Thung Thung Valley.
