Novotel Melbourne on Collins

I like the position of the hotel, staff, amenities and the room was excellent

Staff were amazing however, there were strains all over the carpet, there was no sweetner in the room as well as an open sugar sachet, I could hear people on the phone next door through the power outlet in the wall.

All of the staff I interacted with were friendly and very helpful. We really appreciated the clean quiet and comfortable room.

The room was reasonable and suited our family of 3 well. It is older but still comfortable. The staff are the biggest let down, the front of house staff especially rude and just don't care. One of the lifts from ground to level 3 was broken during our stay, and then the only other lift also broke down; leaving no lift to ground floor. Elderly people and those with mobility issues or prams (us) had no way to get to the ground floor and the older lady on reception didn't care at all and they didn't even put a sign to let people know it was out of order, so reception staff were literally watching people wait their for the lift for ages and not saying a word. We eventually ended up going down in the service lift. Housekeeping also didn't happen until after 3pm most days and rubbish was left outside rooms for 24 hours - surely the night staff should do rounds and collect this? Overall, the hotel room was comfortable and the location perfect, but it's let down by some of the staff and poor management of hotel facilities.

We had a great time

Nice stay overall. The indoor pool and spa were nice and warm. Concierge and restaurant staff service were friendly. There was clearly some construction work happening, but it wasn’t a bother. Don’t expect great view, we just saw buildings across from us. TV was a little fiddly to get to work, so we didn’t use it much. Would be nice if there was a bigger play room for kids.

Pro's: Central, nice staff, value for money, comfortable rooms, lovely cleaners, average gym, asked for late checkout and got 12pm which was great, looked after our bags after we checked out until we had to get to airport Cons: 1 lift broken, fire alarm went off - was a fault but nobody cleared this fact up over the speaker so nobody knew what was going on, gym needs to be cleaned - dusty, not regularly wiped - unhygienic, couldn't get thru to room service one night, gave up after 4x calls and 1x to reception Overall a good stay

Still staff service needs to be improved.

The location is really good. The room is big. They also provided a extra bed for my kid which is comfortable. And the little swimming pool is good. Kids have Eater egg hunting too. Need to improve: The mattress of the king size bed is not even and not comfortable. I feel I will slip down to the edge every night. Also our room is kind of noisy with the aircon. The curtain could be better to make the room darker.

Wonderful friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable room and facilities. Perfect location for shopping, tourist attractions and dining. Will definitely stay again!

This property is in a great location. It was a bit noisy with maintenance works going on

I liked that the pool was undercover so no sun protection was needed. Another good thing was how convenient the breakfast bar was even though we don’t love breakfast.One bad thing was the noise that the construction workers were making early in the morning.Another bad thing was the wifi was inconsistent and sometimes didn’t work.

The breakfast was amazing . The hotel itself looked dull and the corridors were not vaccumed enough. Room was neat and clean but the service lacked effort. Dirty dining plates lying around and unattended to , on corridors. Not very impressed.
