Copal Tulum Hotel

This hotel was a great stay for a family of 4. We rented the two bedroom apartment and it was huge. It had its own pool, which was very small, but did allow us to sit in our own private pool space. The property was clean and well maintained. The staff was so friendly and attentive they greeted us with smiles every time we walked onto the property. We were able to communicate with the front desk via WhatsApp and the service we requested via text was prompt. The hotel room itself had lots of windows for natural light, but also blackout curtains for sleeping in. There’s a kitchen with all the basic necessities for a long stay, including a full sized refrigerator. There are convenience stores and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk. Theres plenty of free parking if you’re renting a car. Theres are ATV rentals right outside the hotel for those who are interested. There is a taxi parked outside at all times as well, ready for the next passengers. The resort had its own restaurant/bar and the food was great! We will visit again soon.

Very great experience

Stayed at hotel copal it was an incredible stay. The staff were all beyond helpful and friendly, they upgraded our room free of charge. The room was beautiful and spacious, the balcony was a very peaceful area to enjoy breakfast or a drink. The rooftop pool was great to cool off in, very clean and beautiful room. Had delicious steak tacos at the restaurant. Could not have been better in any way. The hotel is located in a very convenient area close walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops in central Tulum. I would recommend anyone to stay here. Thank you!

Great hotel

The room was beautiful. I loved our private little pool. The hotel isn’t very convenient if you don’t have a car. Taxis can get very pricey without one. The shared hotel pool is very nice too. I would stay here again if I have a car rental to get to the hotel zone area.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! Everything was absolutely perfect from the moment I arrived. The staff was so welcoming, professional, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The room was spotless, comfortable, and very relaxing. The atmosphere of the hotel was peaceful and beautiful, and the service was truly top tier. I felt safe, cared for, and enjoyed every minute of my stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful experience. 10/10 — I will definitely be coming back! I had a really enjoyable stay at Copal Tulum. The overall vibe is exactly what you'd expect from Tulum-lush, tropical, and very peaceful. The "jungle-style" design throughout the property makes it feel like a relaxing escape, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully designed. The staff was friendly and attentive, which really elevated the experience. I also loved the pools and the on-site restaurant-both were highlights. Overall, Copal Tulum offers a great balance of comfort, value, and that signature Tulum aesthetic. I would definitely stay here again, especially if you're looking for a calm, nature-inspired getaway.

First solo trip and I’d do it over and over again at Copal Tulum the staff is so attentive the food was amazing the private cenote was beautiful. Not too far from the beach or attractions 10/10

There aren’t many options to eat. The power went out for about 6 hours and there was nothing they could do about it.

This is a really nice hotel. Glad I wasn’t deterred by the negative reviews. The hotel is secure, there is security on the premises and cameras all around. I felt safe. The staff were very helpful and friendly, even got a baby lizard out of our room lol. It’s close to everything, no more than 10-15 minutes away. Taxis are high, we used ride shares but they are not welcomed by the taxi drivers so be aware of pick up locations. The place is so serene, really quiet and relaxing. The restaurant on site has really good breakfast. The power did go out on our last day for a few hours which is common in Tulum fyi. We just enjoyed nature and the pool during that time, plus the common areas like the lobby and restaurant has backup generators and were still operating as normal. Will stay here again.

Overall, the hotel grounds and nice and maintained. I can say the rooms were nice and spacious as well. The only problem is outside noise in the apartment. My 1 bedroom was outside of the pool with kids constantly screaming. I was able to tune it out but the bedroom located in the back faced the road and you can clearly hear every car driving by. Thankful the road is clamber at night. On my second day there was a high pitched loud buzzing sound coming from the courtyard. I couldn’t tune this sound out and it was extremely irritating. I walked around to see where it was coming from and finally asked the front desk if I could change rooms. I also noticed my balcony door didn’t close all the way. The front desk said we don’t have any other one bedrooms available and said nobody ever complained about this noise. I offered to take a downgrade or even pay for an upgrade to no avail. I convinced them to come hear the sound and they finally agreed and learned the sound was coming from a motor outside of my room. They shut off the motor and all was well and they sent someone to fix the door. The motor was back on my last day but I just dealt with it. The front desk could have handled the situation better and offered some accommodation rather than dismissing my claims. Overall it’s a nice place but not relaxing and staff could have been better. I’d think twice before booking this place or at least book a room on the higher floor to avoid the noise.

Copal was a very nice place to stay. I would definitely stay again, only next time I will request a suite on the other side of the property as there was a bar across the street that fancies itself a club. The music was quite loud, which made sleep elusive for me.
