YOTEL Edinburgh

I stay here regularly and the it is consistently very good

Whilst listed as a 4 star stay, Yotel Edinburgh seems more like a 3 star stay - comfortable-ish but not luxurious. 1. The rooms are small. Unless you get a First Class King, the rooms are akin to the size of Ibis hotels - not something I expect at this price range. 2. The toilet cublicle is separate from the shower cubicle, with the towel rack being in the toilet cubicle. If you're staying with friends, expect to take turns to use the room when showering, or expose yourselves to each other whilst grabbing your towel which will hang outside the shower. I think a separation between the bathroom area and the rest would be more appropriate. 3. The handheld shower I had was broken. Not something I'd expect from a 4 star hotel. Yotel - you need to check these every time a guest checks out. Luckily, they have good rain showers. 4. Yotel uses Urban Jungle toiletries - I'm not a fan, but this is a matter of preference. 5. Don't expect a desk unless you get an expensive room. I feel these should be standard in double rooms, in this day and age, with tons of people working remotely. 6. The Wi-Fi is terrible. 20Mbps is not acceptible in 2025. Casting anything from your mobile device is a nightmare. Nevaya (their software) is laggy and was a poor experience - I tried different rooms with varying levels of software smoothness. 7. Food options are not great. On some days, they didn't even have desserts. 8. Yotel has some green initiatives - ask about Purple Goes Green.

Good facility. Noisy rooms. You can hear doors shutting. Self checking so lack of interpersonal interaction. Good location. Walking distance.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Big fan of the shower! Revolve bar was a great place to grab a coffee to start the day and a beer for the end. Walking distance from great restaurants and bars, sightseeing areas, and train station.

Staff were helpful in providing me a laptop charger when needed- I was returning from abroad and was tired so great to have a comfortable room

Brilliant hotel, located with easy access to all the shops and attractions. Walking distance or use of buses and trams even to and from the airport to within walking distance of the hotel. The staff were great and very helpful. the hotel was modern and clean with very comfy beds. Best night sleep i had in ages. Breakfast was amazing too great selection of cereal, meats and cheese, and cooked buffet too.

Location was ideal for what i was doing and the the staff was friendly

The hotel is located in a central yet quiet area of the city. The room was clean, but a bit small and cold (the a/c was not working correctly). Breakfast was OK, but the room where it's served gets busy very quickly

Wonderful facility, friendly staff. Amazing coffee. Its located within walking distance of so many great things. I ended up extending my stay one more day for sight seeing

The hotel and staff were very pleasant. However, of the 8 nights spent at the YOTEL, 5 nights were beastly hot in the room. Not matter how many times I asked for help with temp controls, nothing was done.

Convenient location

Although I prefer a more traditional hotel, the experience wasn’t bad. The room was small, but had everything you needed. The bar area was nice and the staff friendly.

Breakfast provision was poor value for money and the dining space was inadequate for the demand. I booked my breakfast via one of the automated check in machines on arrival - I thought £14 was excessive (Premier Inn breakfast is £10 and substantially better quality & quantity). When I went for breakfast the booking hadn’t registered so I was charged £16 which made it worse value. I raised this at reception and was told there was nothing that could be done. Because a tour group of 50 or more people were swarming around it was difficult to get seated and the choices were restricted the overall breakfast experience was pressured & uncomfortable and not my expectation of a hotel in this price bracket - a £75 per night hostel was the impression created.
