What comes across your mind when you hear “Zoo”? Some of you may think it’s just a place where you can see animals you don’t see every day. Some others would think it’s a place to spend the weekend with the family.

Well, those are right, but here we are talking about Singapore Zoo, an ‘open concept’ zoo where animals roam freely in open and natural habitats. And with SingapoRediscovers Voucher and Traveloka Xperience, your Singapore Zoo experience is getting even more pleasant.

Dubbed as the world’s best rainforest zoo, it is located within Singapore’s heavily forested area. Singapore Zoo’s open concept offers the privilege to learn from nature. Here, you can get really close to the animals like giraffes, elephants, and white rhinos as you feed them out of your hand. A portion of food can be purchased on site. And what’s so cool about it is that the experience you have equals contributing toa good cause, because all of the proceeds will help to fund our wildlife conservation efforts in the region.

As part of the Wildlife Reserves Singapore, Singapore Zoo is a self-funded organization that focuses on protecting the rich tropical biodiversity of Southeast Asia particularly Singapore.

There are eleven different animal zones in the Singapore Zoo where each one of them has its own unique distinctions. Meet the kangaroos and wallabies in the Australasia zone where most of the animals can only be found in Australia and Papua New Guinea. In another zone, you can get into the world of the Elephants of Asia at where you can see the all-female herd of elephants in their habitat that is built on the banks of a reservoir.

In the fragile forest zone, you come to see tropical creatures like lesser mouse deer and Malayan peacock face to face in a lush tropical rainforest that mimics their actual habitat. In the Reptile Garden zone, you will be able to learn from over 60 species of reptiles and amphibians from king cobra to the renowned Komodo dragon.

Meanwhile, in the Primate Kingdom zone, we can see how primates like the Javan langurs or squirrel monkeys interact intheir habitat. And of course never miss Wild Africa zone to immerse in theforest and harsh deserts with cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, and lions.

Other than those zones, you can also check out other attractions in the area, you can definitely stop for a meal or two or shop for a souvenir to bring back home. Catch the shows featuring amazing talents of the animals alongside with their trainers, playing twice daily.

Also learn more about wildlife from the trainers, listen to their stories as you get to know the animals better from them. You can also join a multitude of family-friendly activities from a water playground to jungle breakfast with wildlife, the only place in the world where you can have breakfast with a family of orangutans.
