Great accommodation for the price. The pool was great, lots of pool side beds and tables. Staff were friendly and very helpful! The room was great, and location was good, slightly further away from the hustle and bustle of surfers paradise - highly recommend!

Was in a Family Suite which was clean, had plenty of room for everyone inc two balconies. Good location an easy 10-15min walk into Cavil Ave which means you are out of the hustle and bustle. You are two blocks from the beach. Parking can be hit or miss depending on what time you get back to the appartment, but there is plenty of street parking. Have to call out Denise from the front desk who was amazing. Really went out of her way prior and also once we arrived.

The staff was lovely when we checked in the room was so clean and neat we were very happy, we had a nice view of the pool area. Only issue was, we were there for 3 nights were given a towel each for the two of us. We went and asked about different towels for the pool area and we were told an extra $5 each towel. So unfortunate why would I pay for a spare towel that should be included. Other than that it was wonderful and definitely would stay again

This stay was profoundly disappointing. The Sovereign Gold Coast clearly prioritises filling rooms over providing a basic, functional, or comfortable guest experience. I will not be returning. The experience started poorly and only got worse: Painful Check-in: The check-in process was frustratingly slow. The staff, while not rude, were unfriendly and entirely indifferent. This set a bad tone immediately. Key Card Failure: As an indicator of the general dysfunction, the key cards did not work initially. Upon reaching my room, I immediately understood why I had overheard another guest complaining that "nothing worked." They were right. Broken Facilities: The spa was not operational, and only one escalator was functional, causing annoying delays and inconvenience. A hotel of this size must keep its essential facilities maintained. Zero Comfort: The sleep quality was terrible. I could distinctly feel the springs in the mattress, proving the bedding is desperately overdue for replacement. Cheap Amenities: In a two-bedroom unit, supplying only one minuscule bar of soap is inexcusably cheap and demonstrates a total lack of concern for the customer. In summary, the Sovereign Gold Coast is focused on maximizing occupancy with zero care for the customer experience. Everything felt neglected. Do not waste your money here.

I booked this hotel for a work conference and unfortunately ended up not staying the night due to how uncomfortable and unsafe I felt. The room I was given was extremely outdated, had a strong musky smell, and the curtains were noticeably dirty. As a young woman travelling alone, I did not feel secure — there were no visible security cameras and the room lacked additional locking mechanisms that would offer peace of mind. I returned to reception about 30 minutes after checking in (and only an hour after booking), to politely request a refund. I explained that I felt unsafe, especially with the large number of men around town for the Supercars weekend. Instead of offering empathy or assistance, the staff member told me to “go for a walk” and suggested I would “feel silly” if I left. He also asked if I was upset because of anxiety, which was unprofessional and dismissive. In the end, I chose to drive home two hours each way for the duration of my conference rather than return. The customer service and overall condition of the accommodation were incredibly disappointing. I cannot recommend this hotel, especially for women traveling alone.

Well located within walking distance to the GC tram. Great price / value for money option.
