Embassy Suites by Hilton Montreal

The hotel has a beautiful lobby & restaurant with a few nice perks, but overall the experience was very mixed. It would have been great if we had been given one of their updated rooms. We are non-smokers with no pets, nor kids and so there is NO EXCUSES! We should have been given an update room because we got there early! 3;30 pm. If we had arrived at 9 Pm; then so be it. However, there were several downsides. The hotel has only one elevator for 11 floors, which resulted in long waits—sometimes up to 15 minutes. We were on the 11th floor. The room itself felt very dark and dated. It appears it has not been fully updated in many years. The carpet was quite worn and felt REALLY dirty, and the furniture was old and tired. A full renovation is really needed, especially flooring and furnishings to bring it up to modern standards. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning. Not their fault! Pros. Each evening, the hotel offered two complimentary drinks, and breakfast buffet was available each morning, which were both appreciated and enjoyed. Our suite was large and had a nice comfortable bed, with two TVs and lots of decent closet space. The bathroom was spacious with a large tub, although we didn’t use it. Shower was TINY, but water pressure fabulous! There was a kitchen with a nice large refrigerator, but no paper towels or napkins in the kitchenette area. Bare bones and very poor lighting. A nice touch was the two complimentary bottles of water provided daily.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, always wanting to make sure you have what you need or want. We noticed them going over and above to assist customers. The breakfast included in your stay has a lot of selection and fresh. So much food. Very clean facility and excellent room cleaning as well. Well stocked for supplies. It would be nice to have a couple plates, bowls and cutlery.

Perfect location for those going to the Palais du Congress. The hotel is being renovated, so try to get a new room if you can

The construction, limited elevator access, especially traveling iwith disabled individuals created obstacles.

Breakfast was great and made to order omelets too. Evening cocktails and snack each day included. Everything was perfect exceptfor 2 mechanical issues. Only one elevator was working and then the day we left the A/C was going to be down for 2 days. That is why the 4 stars.

Great room and onsite amenities, close to everything we wanted to see in the downtown area.

Very clean rooms, amazing staff in the restaurant.

The room was lovely and extremely spacious. The staff were polite and very helpful. The breakfast was great and had pretty decent variety. We were very happy that breakfast was included, as well as free drinks at happy hour. We also used the parking, and had no issues with the underground parking. The only issue was that one of the elevators was out of service, so there was only one main elevator which made it quite slow getting to the room or the parking garage at times.

Overall, the stay at Embassy Suites by Hilton Montreal was good, and I would definitely consider using this hotel again for our next exhibition trip to Montreal. The location is a major advantage,it’s directly across the street from the exhibition venue, which made everything very convenient. The hotel has strong potential. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, which we appreciated. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. The breakfast is just okay—while it’s free, the selection is limited and lacks healthier options. The complimentary evening snacks and drinks are a nice touch, but again, very basic. One inconvenience during our stay was that one of the elevators was not functioning, which caused delays, especially during peak hours. In the room, the shower setup could also be improved—it only had a fixed showerhead with low water pressure and no handheld option, which was not very practical. As a Hilton member, I also noticed an inconsistency in guest recognition. My colleague received a welcome basket, while I did not, and my room had a less favorable view. This could be handled more consistently, especially for loyalty members. Overall, a solid stay with a great location, but there are a few operational and service details that, if improved, would make a noticeable difference.
