The check-in process was very long winded. No computerised system, hand writing down the hotels.com itinerary reference and taking too long to confirm the booking. Although not an issue for us, the elevator was out of service so the stairs were the only way up to the rooms. Overall the room was comfortable if a little dated. The staff were friendly and welcoming but it would be nice to have an early check-in option, even for an additional charge.

Large room in great period hotel. Terrible check-in with a strict 3pm start resulting in long queues. Bed was not level to the floor and wall had prominent hand marks. Bathroom was good and clean. No lift and a good three floor stair experience. Good location for city centre

A mixed bag really! Pros: A lovely old building, reasonable sized rooms, cream (but a little shabby). Great shower with good water pressure, friendly staff. Breakfast had good bacon and good baked beans (not watery rubbish ones!) Cons: Lift was broken so if you are on the 4th floor it’s pretty much 100 steps to climb up and down. Only 1 teabag in the teatray. Remote control was missing from the room completely. Coffee at breakfast literally the worst I’ve ever had and that’s saying something. Lack of breakfast items despite being an hour before breakfast was due to end. The temperature in the breakfast room was sooooo warm! Overall it was ok, I booked it because for once, it came out cheaper than the nearby Premier Inn. I know where I’ll be staying next time I’m in the area though.

The hotel wasnt helpful at all. I asked reception where to park and they advised where to go which was a nightmare to get to. Send me the wrong way. Then had to pay £10 but in fact they took £10.25 Then they wanted £50 as a down payment even though i had already paid for the room through Expedia. This money needs 3-5 days before i get a refund The carpet was filthy, the bathroom trim needs work done. The breakfast bacon was too salty. The sausage and hash brown was tasteless. Left a message for manager to call me. This hasnt happened. The bathroom sink downstairs had a water leak and just had a towel wrapped around the tap. Didnt look good Looking for a full refund

Lift wasn’t working, the room smelt of smoke like someone had been smoking in the room. The room was freezing as the radiator was working we had get a little portable heater which only did a little. Definitely not worth the money

The lift was out of action and it would seem that it had been for some time. Whilst I have no problem using the stairs (as I prefer the exercise) this would have caused a major problem for some of my friends whom normally would have stayed as well. Also, no mention of this was made when booking.

I couldn’t get in my room, my partner and myself had to find alternate accommodation, as your left was out of order and our room was on the 4th floor, both my partner and me are disabled, I have stayed there many times over the years and will be expecting a full refund, plus compensation.

I booked 6 x rooms as we are working in Bradford and have stayed in this hotel multiple times and the same issues keep happening. The lift is still not working in the hotel (after 12 months of being broken) no hot water in building again this is the second time this has happened here, so we were unable to have a shower, when I called down to reception there was no apology! Blind didn't fit the window properly so let light in and there constant noises throughout the night! I would not recommend this hotel and won't be staying again, if only 0 stars was an option.

We were a little disappointed with our stay here. The window in the room could not close properly. The curtains were filthy and stained. The bed head was stained with what looked like blood and other soils. The worst part was there was no lift. Thankfully we were one flight of stairs up and someone kindly brought the luggage to the room for us. The parking on site was a bit problematic for us in that you are required to download an app. Sadly because I am from another country this app was not available to me on my cell phone l. I had already parked my car there thinking that i would just pay at the desk. We were informed by the staff that if we moved our car out of there we would be ticketed 100£. Keep in mind we had just parked our car there a few minutes before this. The staff at the desk were friendly. There was a really kind lady I think her name was Pam who loaned me her personal umbrella. Very grateful for her kindness. The breakfast wasnt bad. They had traditional English breakfast offerings. Overall many of the employees were kind but the hotel itself needs much attention.
