Really great hotel, fantastic breakfast with great views of the lake!

Room was superb, ned was a bit hard for my taste bit not uncomfortable, breakfast was buffet style but very fresh and high quality. Staff were VERY polite and nothing was too much trouble. Overall my stay was excellent

Lovely rooms, clean. Super king size bed. Shower and separate bath. Staff very nice and helpful. Spar and facilities were fantastic. Easy walking distance to village. Food was also very nice.

The room was spotless although a little dated. Staff were lovely - couldnt do more!! Food was good, would stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Daffodil hotel, we were made very welcome, it was our 50th wedding anniversary, and there was a lovely surprise left in our room of a card and chocolates

Didn’t use spa as just recovering from hip op. Room very clean. Food first class and service brilliant.

Walked into a straight out of the spa, way too busy to use, too many people, not relaxing. People smoking at the entrance of a spa hotel was not a good item and should be stopped or moved from the entrance. Remainder of the hotel services were good.

Concerning that there were NO pillow protectors or a mattress protector on the bed. Carpet was stained and shabby, wouldn't want to walk barefoot on it! Fabulous location, how could it not be, you're in the Lake District!! Lack of professionalism, unwelcome check-in. All a bit substandard. Would not return to this hotel. Breakfast okay but not great.

Huge room and huge en-suite. Great lake view. Good night's sleep.Will go again.

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in

The hotel is in a great location. Beautiful spot with nearby walks and very walkable to Grasmere. The restaurant, the staff in the restaurant and the food were great. I had a spa treatment and my beautician was excellent. The shower in our room was great. The coffee and tea making facilities in the room and the housekeeping staff were great. However, we were really disappointed with our welcome and check out. The reception staff were not particularly friendly, or to be honest helpful when you requested anything. The lounge bar could be a great place for a quiet drink before dinner - if people aren’t watching videos loudly, and there is someone there to serve you. I would expect a manager to deal with people making the environment unusable to other guests, and that a lovely room like that would have enough staff to host guests effectively. The room we had (Senior Suite) had a comfortable bed and to some extent much of what you need. The sofa area was great, but the couch not really comfortable. Other things lacking no coat hooks, minimal hangers, not enough rails to hang towels and a wardrobe which was unnecessarily awkward to use based on the amount of space there is to accommodate it. Having a bath was not easy since the water pressure was so bad it took a long time to fill it, and the taps are in such an odd place you can’t fill it up once you are in it. For the money paid I would expect the room to be perfect in terms of comfort and really it was a disappointment.
