The Daffodil Hotel

The hotel is in a great location. Beautiful spot with nearby walks and very walkable to Grasmere. The restaurant, the staff in the restaurant and the food were great. I had a spa treatment and my beautician was excellent. The shower in our room was great. The coffee and tea making facilities in the room and the housekeeping staff were great. However, we were really disappointed with our welcome and check out. The reception staff were not particularly friendly, or to be honest helpful when you requested anything. The lounge bar could be a great place for a quiet drink before dinner - if people aren’t watching videos loudly, and there is someone there to serve you. I would expect a manager to deal with people making the environment unusable to other guests, and that a lovely room like that would have enough staff to host guests effectively. The room we had (Senior Suite) had a comfortable bed and to some extent much of what you need. The sofa area was great, but the couch not really comfortable. Other things lacking no coat hooks, minimal hangers, not enough rails to hang towels and a wardrobe which was unnecessarily awkward to use based on the amount of space there is to accommodate it. Having a bath was not easy since the water pressure was so bad it took a long time to fill it, and the taps are in such an odd place you can’t fill it up once you are in it. For the money paid I would expect the room to be perfect in terms of comfort and really it was a disappointment.

Lovely hotel! Staff were welcoming and helpful on arrival the spa was beautiful and overall good access times - although it was soo nice would have enjoyed it being open later into the evening! We only ate breakfast at the hotel but this was lovely, enough options for full English and staff were very attentive!

Rooms were clean though tired, shower kept going far to hot, shower worked intermittantly, room not fully stocked from previous guests. Poor vegetarian food options. Staff are what makes this hotel.

Spa relaxing. Food good though some was overpriced for the quantity. Burgers and fish large portions though the lamb very expensive and only a small portion. A very clean hotel and very friendly staff.

The location was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean snd spacious although we were disappointed it didn’t have a full lengh mirror. Breakfast certainty wasn't worth £30.

Simply beautiful with truly wonderful staff. The scenery and comfort were unparalleled.

Great time and a beautiful little village of Grasmere. Only headache was our safe had a malfunction and wouldn’t open while our things were stored in it but thankfully the staff was able to sort it out. Lovely resort and food was delicious.

We have never met such happy and helpful staff anywhere like this hotel! They are a really great team from reception and dining to cleaning staff. Well done!! A great hotel in the most stunning setting! We have had the perfect stay! Great walks around the lakes and mountain opposite. Literally minutes walk into beautiful Grasmere. Particular thanks to Moses, Aiden and Amber for spoiling us!

The property is located in an excellent location, right upon Lake Windermere itself. The staff are all friendly and the breakfast is good. The beds are firm and uncomfortable for me but that might be a personal preference.

Relaxing comfortable place by a large lake, easy access to wonderful hikes in the hills. It’s not terribly busy even in the peak of the summer, it’s away from the crowds.

This place was a dream. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is right across the street from Dove Cottage and a short walk into Grasmere to see Wordsworth's grave. There is also a convenient bus stop right across the street if you are traveling without a car. The location is stunning; even a view of the car park provided beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The hiking path around Grasmere Lake was one of the most beautiful trails I've ever hiked. We stopped in Keswick and Windermere as well, and highly preferred the quiet location in Grasmere. The hotel provides excellent food, so you don't have to leave, although there is a great cafe and pub a short walk away. The property was clean, the bed was comfortable, the location was quiet, and the breakfast room was gorgeous! Not a bad view in any room in the place. Absolutely loved this place and plan on returning. Thanks for the remarkable stay!

Beautiful hotel and nice restaurant in a great location.

It was a one night stay and we were welcomed from the very beginning and given helpful information on local attractions by Mohammed at the reception. The tepidarium, sauna and steam room were excellent. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
