Great location and very helpful staff. Clean rooms, bed and bathrooms. The included breakfast buffet is well catered and fresh to the taste. We arrived at Waverley Train Station and walked through the Royale Mile, Harry Poter Street, and through the Botanical gardens with a spectacular view of the Castle -followed by our checkin to the hotel. Later in the evening we visted Holyrook Park with an spectacular view of the city and the waterfront vistas from the hiltop - an easy hike for the family.

The staff when we first arrived was very abrupt, i paid for parking at the hotel which i had not been informed about, i was given no option other than to pay by card. They were not polite about this at all. I did not use the restaurant or bar because of this reason, breakfast was ok. Staff should be trained on how they communicate to guests arriving.

We were upgraded and given free drinks vouchers when the air con in our room didn’t work. However, the mattress was so firm that it felt like sleeping on a brick and we were really uncomfortable.

The property was walking distance to a lot of attractions which was great. Staff was helpful and kind. Though parking was limited we were able to get a spot which was great. The room was a little run down. The bed was rock hard and you could feel the springs in the mattress. There was no mini fridge and the carpet was buckling and very stained. For over 300 dollars a night it was disappointing.
