We have stayed at the D'Resort Downtown East, as a family of 5, for 2 nights for transit. The room is roomy, clean, and comfortable. The surrounding area is green and natural, with birds tweeting in the morning, you can't imagine it sits in one of the most bustling cities in the world. There is a food court/shopping mall complex opposite the resort with easy connection to a free shuttle bus to Pasir Ris MRT station. The way to the hotel we hired a taxi, the way back to the airport we were on public transportation. The staff are professional and friendly, room service is diligent and maintains the best quality. We were glad that we have found the D'Resort Downtown East and will come back again next time.

More about hotels in Pasir Ris

Your Complete Guide to Hotels in Pasir Ris, Singapore

Pasir Ris is a beloved neighbourhood in the eastern part of Singapore that perfectly balances urban convenience with natural beauty. Known for its sprawling beachfront park, mangrove boardwalks, and family-friendly atmosphere, Pasir Ris is a top choice for staycationers who crave fresh air and open spaces without leaving the island. The name Pasir Ris translates roughly to white sand in Malay, a fitting description for the sandy shores that line its beautiful coastal park.

This mature residential town has a welcoming, community-oriented character that sets it apart from the more commercialised parts of Singapore. While it may be further from the city centre than some other neighbourhoods, this distance is precisely what makes Pasir Ris so appealing for a staycation. The slower pace of life, abundance of green spaces, and proximity to attractions like Changi Village and Downtown East make it a destination that rewards those willing to venture east. Hotels in Pasir Ris offer excellent value for money, making it an accessible getaway for families, couples, and solo travellers alike.

Best Areas to Stay in Pasir Ris

The area around Pasir Ris MRT station and White Sands Shopping Mall is the most convenient base for a staycation. This central hub offers easy access to shops, restaurants, and supermarkets, with the MRT providing a direct connection to the city via the East-West Line. Hotels near the MRT station are ideal for those who want to combine their Pasir Ris retreat with excursions to other parts of Singapore.

Downtown East, located at Pasir Ris Close, is a popular leisure and entertainment hub that includes the D'Resort by D'Resort, one of the most well-known staycation destinations in the east. This area offers a unique resort-like environment with water parks, bowling alleys, and multiple dining options, all set within a lush tropical landscape. Staying near Downtown East is particularly popular with families.

For nature lovers, accommodation options closer to Pasir Ris Park provide the most immersive experience. While hotel choices directly at the park are limited, the surrounding area offers properties that are just a short walk or cycle ride from the park's mangrove boardwalks, beach, and cycling trails. The area near Pasir Ris Drive provides a quieter residential setting with easy access to both the park and the town centre.

Best Time to Visit Pasir Ris

Pasir Ris is best enjoyed during Singapore's drier months, particularly from February to April, when outdoor activities along the beach and in the park are most pleasant. The northeast monsoon season from November to January can bring heavier and more prolonged rainfall, which may affect outdoor plans, though the area's indoor attractions at Downtown East ensure there is always something to do.

School holidays in June and December are the most popular times for family staycations in Pasir Ris, and accommodation at D'Resort and other properties fills up quickly during these periods. Book well in advance if you plan to visit during these peak times. For the best rates and a quieter experience, consider mid-week stays during term time. Early mornings at Pasir Ris Park are magical, with the chance to spot migratory birds in the mangroves and enjoy the beach before the day heats up.
