The room was really spacious. It was a lovely experience especially since we wanted to try living in a shophouse. The staircase in the loft is very steep and narrow, might not be suitable for the elderly and children. The room would be even better if there was a bidet or a spray for the toilet bowl! Cleanliness in times of COVID 🙂

Booked a Sultan Room for two night staycation. However, the room is too small and on the ground floor. Front desk staff recommended to upgrade to bigger Puteri Room on the upper floor and it was value for money. The open air courtyard is good for relaxing and meal. Area of improvement is to add bidet toilet seat.

This is the first time I had a bad experience for my staycation, rooms are not same as what the photos looks like, I ask for a change of room, front desk worker told me can; T only can upgrade. If you don't like you go to travelloka to click on cancel, they say it like so easy, when I travel all the way down to enjoy my say, they can't even help on my request, then the rooms cloths hanging area smells very bad.

The Sultan provides us with a great accommodation and accessibility to landmarks such as the Sultan Mosque (6-7 minutes walk via alleyways) and Hajjah Fatimah Mosque (less than 5 minutes walk). Check-in and check-out was smooth and the staff was friendly. The Mediterranean style decoration made the hotel look lovely. It's prime location allow us to discover Arab Street and Beach Road at our own expense. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Sultan! Do take note that the staircase access to the second level of the Sultan Loft room are very steep similar to climbing a ladder. Hence, if you are bringing children or elderly please take extra precaution for their safety.

The hotel itself is located close to a lot of eateries, restaurant, massage parlours and spas. It is also situated in between two MRT lines (EW11: Lavender and CC5: Nicole Highway). The hotel receptionist (Samir if I'M not mistaken) is friendly and approachable. He was very accommodating when we requested for an early check-in since we arrived earlier than expected. The room is spacious, the bathroom is clean, and the room amenities are newly stocked. And the TV has a lot of channels and programs to choose from, which was a plus for us, since we were their during Phase 2, and unable to do much activities outside. We spent most of our evening eating our dinner while watching movies.

The moment we stepped into our room, we were so pleasantly delighted 👍 This is a Heritage Award Winning hotel and really gives a nostalgic feeling. The mini bar is free (first round) is a very nice touch. Though it’s nothing fancy but it brings on a smile 😊 The location is good 👍 and there’s plenty of good cafes and restaurants within 5-10 minutes walking. Nearby Bussorah Street was great for dinner and the atmosphere was so good. My family really enjoyed it.

Stayed there for a 3 days 2 night, the 2nd day, we hanged 'Please Make my room' before 11.30am but came back in the evening with it not being made. The only reason why we requested despite a short stay was, we discovered a lot of ants in the bathroom and even on the bed despite dusting it off. The 2nd night, I was woken up to an ant on my face and discovered the blanket had a small and a medium size ants. I'm not sure where it came from, probably underneath the bed platform. The bathroom is the only dustbin available, the ants started invading there too. I do love the concept of the room, I just feel uncomfortable that the ants are invading the spaces. Bathroom is spacious, just hoping there's a bidet installed in the future.
