What Guests Say About Their Stay

Really enjoyed our visit to Le Chateau Frontenac and the beautiful Quebec City. Staff were friendly and efficient. We arrived early and, even though our room wasn't ready, were able to leave our luggage and go off and explore the area. The room was spacious and spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. We ordered room service in advance, and it was delivered promptly the following morning. There is a resort fee, but the hotel has lots of activities that are covered by this every day, and we booked to do the river tour Sunday morning before we departed. We also visited Bar 1608 on a busy Saturday evening, and were impressed by the speed at which we were seated and served. We sat at the bar, and watching the cocktails being created was fun, and they were delicious. Overall, a very pleasant stay, and wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future.

Definitely recommend not parking yourself, parking garage is very narrow. Amazing time, friendly people and staff. Absolutely would love to go again!

Beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Old town Quebec. Majestic scenery and views of the area. Not sure if I would say kid friendly but not everywhere should be. Great restaurants on property and nearby. Friendly and helpful staff. Our room wasn’t ready at checking so complimentary drinks at the bar were offered and a gift in the room more than made up for the short delay. Would definitely stay there again.

Stunning hotel, in the perfect location with beautiful clean rooms and really friendly staff. I think this hotel needs to decide if it’s a high quality hotel or a tourist attraction, constantly packed with people, hard to find assistance and a 30 minute wait for guests to even have a drink in the bar ! At the price point they need to do better.

We paid nearly £500 for a one night stay in this hotel. We booked a room with a Queen bed. We had a long queue to check in and our room was dark and dingy. It had three windows but the widows looked out onto very near walls on all three aspects. We tried to find a place in the hotel where we could get a view of the river. We couldn't see the river from the swimming pool and when we tried to go to see the view from the bar (at about 11 am) we were told it was closed and didn't open till 2 pm, after our checkout. Apart from dining in a very expensive restaurant we couldn't find anywhere in the hotel where we could see the view. We had to queue up for a very long time to check out so that we could say we didn't use the mini bar because we lifted up a bottle of wine left out in our room and then put it back down. This triggered a sensor. When we visited reception when it wasn’t busy to explain what happened, we were unhelpfully told we would have to attend the reception again the next morning at checkout (instead of just dropping off the keys) or we would be charged for the bottle. This involved waiting in lengthy queue. We had to wait a long time for our luggage to be brought from our room and while waiting we perched on a deep window sill. We moved when were told by staff that we could not sit there (which was humiliating) and then two other guests came along and sat down in exactly the same place but they were not asked to move.

We had dinner reservations. We arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes before our reservations. The area had 30-40 people standing around. It took a while just to be able to speak to staff. Most of the people appeared to be waiting to get in the bar. The public halls on the lower two floors were always full of people.

We already knew that this was an expensive place to stay. We were a little disappointed in the channel selection on the tv. In this day and age Netflix, Amazon and HBO are very common offerings in high end hotels.
