What Guests Say About Their Stay

Everything was fine, best part was it is so close to the old port you can literally just walk up there, now got a great deal on the hotel i got the room under a 100 bucks including taxes which i think is a steal of a deal. Room itself is just fine I would say, not at all anything to brag about. I only needed a place to sleep and for that it was fine, so no complaints from my side. Parking was also available for a charge which in itself is a boon considering its close proximity to the port. All in all, fine stay. Staff was nice as well. Helpful bunch over there.

The hotel was in a useful location, not too far from the Metro and within walking distance to both tourist areas and conference venues. The restaurant was closed during my visit, but plenty of nearby options for breakfast or dinner were available. Check-in staff were friendly and helpful, while checkout staff couldn't provide an invoice (they told me to check the Expedia website, which didn't itemize anything, but couldn't provide anything themselves). The room was spacious and clean, with minor scuff marks in places; the bathroom was well-stocked with essentials. The wall-mounted AC unit only cooled, but once I learned that there were baseboard heaters for heating, things went well (though the thermostats overestimate values). The room was fairly quiet, except on Saturday nights, when neighbours returned from parties and continued a bit indoors; outside traffic was barely noticeable (except for ambulances from CHUM, which were expected). Overall, it was good value for money, and I'd stay there again.

Excellent location in the heart of Old Montreal. I have mobility issues and that was not a problem, there are elevators and easy access. There are so many walkable sites from this Hotel and excellent food options as well. There is a direct bus from the airport to this Hotel and this was our preferred mode of transportation to other sites. This Hotel is also within walking distance of the underground city which is an interesting place! Definitely enjoyed this Hotel, it was very quiet, did not hear other guests!

Hotel was under renovation and falling apart! First room smelled like cigarettes, fan didn’t work in bathroom, tv didn’t work, fan heater in room smelled like it was about to catch fire! Went to the front to address the issues and asked for another room and she tried to hand me an air freshener for the cigarette smell, I said I don’t even smoke I think it’s disgusting and she laughed at me and then gave me another room! In this new room the fan worked but was dangling from the ceiling the ceiling was about to collapse in the bathroom as well, the door knob was falling off to the bathroom and the shower was leaking none stop! One of the elevators broke down and probably good cause the day we left the power went out! We used our phone lights to finish getting ready, to then walk out to a dark hallway on the 8th floor! Stairs here we come and got out of there!! Hotel needs a lot of work!!!!

The elevators make distressing noises going up and down, the first morning we had no electricity followed by the fire alarm going off, after evacuating for hours we had zero contact from the hotel and they didn't answer the phone. After this experience they didn't offer any sort of compensation or even an apology or explanation. Truly bad customer service.

I was unaware of the laundry service. I know that you have to pay for the soap, which is the only thing I saw at the same time. I don’t think that some of the receptionist I think they were very kind, but some of them were a bit confused as to what they were doing.

- When the fire alarm went off Saturday morning, we found out that the emergency exits were blocked and that the fire hose didn't work. The hotel staff didn't manage the guest who were completely unacceptable rude and yelling to other guests. The hotel didn't want to call the emergency number, the guests did. There was no communication from the hotel during the crisis or afterwards. The wifi didn't work.

Staff was trying. However there is obviously no investment in this place. It is about one step from being a homeless shelter. Very minimal, even for a budget hotel. Only stay here if you plan on sleeping 6 drunk teenagers into one room.flop house at best. For an extra $10 a night you get so much more somewhere else. Seedy and scary.

The front of house staff were unfriendly, unhelpful and did not seem happy with their jobs. All became clear on checkout when I asked the new lady on reception who was the Manager. It turned out to be her and her band was EDWIGE. I asked to leave my luggage and was told that would be 4$. NEVER HAVE I EVER BEEN ASKED by a hotel that I have been staying in to pay for them holding luggage…. I asked on the first day for my bedside lamp to be sorted as it was not working. Two of the front desk said it would be done but it was not attended to. Both shower pressure and temperature needs attention, also lavatory flush. Each time I came down to reception there was another guest who had a problem/ complaint. The drinks case in the foyer only took coins and not credit cards. Reception had no coins. The manager was not interested in knowing about her complaints, in fact refused to give me her full name and hotel email so that I could document the problems I had experienced. I credit her behaviour with why the front of house staff are so depressed and lacking any charm. I don’t often write bad reviews bug this hotel needs to up its game.
