部屋が古かった。少し寒かったので暖房のスイッチを入れたが入らなかったので、壊れていると思われる。
小さいが蛾のような虫が2匹、部屋の中をとんでいた。値段が高いわりにとても不満足だった。

The welcome was initially curt until the desk staff warmed their welcome.
Couldn’t check in 5 minutes early.
Although the property is generally I’m good order and clean there were some issues with the air con during the stay, which seemed to stop working every 2 or so hours and wasn’t very cool, meaning the room was a bit of a sweat box when the sun blasted it.
Also a bit of a design flaw in the room only having USB-A sockets next to the bed, with no plug sockets nearby.
Breakfast was also a bit basic.

Very central to the event we were attending, the room was spacious and well equipped but felt tired and used, the sink sloped, possibly cause it was damaged by someone sitting on it so water would splash out on to your clothes when you ran the taps. The air conditioning could not cope with the heat of the weekend and would error over night leaving the room very hot at about 4am. For that I'd probably look at another hotel the next time I was in Birmingham

Unfortunately, this property did not live up to the standards and the costs! I was given an accessible room despite me not booking one. They couldn’t change it for me because in the other room, AC was not working, all for me to find out that you can’t set a temperature below 19 degrees in this hotel! I am not sure what people are supposed to do in hotter weather! Breakfast was really standard for such a big chain. Will not be staying again!

It’s clean and a pretty hotel it need maintenance though paint is chipping off the skirting board the ceilings and walls need some paint they look dirty there was tape on the ceiling from the last people who stayed food is awful apart from the fries 10/10 staff are judgy

Overall I was satisfied with my one night stay at the Radisson Blu Birmingham.
The check-in staff were friendly and efficient and the room was of good quality.
The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff attentive.
Despite its very modern exterior appearance the property is beginning to show its age. The bathroom floor tiles were clean, but needed polishing or replacing. There were no convenient electrical sockets, meaning having to leave charging items on the floor. The USB sockets were loose.
There are no windows that open, and the heating / air system only goes down to 19°C. There is no cooling function, meaning the room is warm and stuffy. I imagine this would be very uncomfortable in summer.

The breakfast was buffet style breakfast, hot food (sausages, scrambled eggs, beans, tomatoes, crispy potatoes, black pudding) pastries, toast, bread, cereals, continental style meats and cheeses.
The room was clean and spacious, bath with shower.
Slept really well. Room was warm, although if I'd had a look at the thermostat I'm sure it would've been fine. Even though the hotel is on a busy street and roundabout. You'd never know, so quiet.

Room was clean, breakfast had plenty of options, staff are cheerful.
However they do take an unexpected £50 deposit, the payment leaving your bank immediately. On check out they tell you your deposit will be refunded immediately or within the next day or too, still waitng nearly 48hrs later! Guess this deposit thing is new as NEVER been asked before on any Hotel.com stays before!

I am going to leave an honest as possible review.
Firstly, the staff at the hotel were friendly, and welcoming - especially the front of house.
They welcomed me and my two kids with warmth and friendliness. They also did their absolute best to give us a high floor (as I wanted to impress the kids). The room itself was nice, with great views.
However, for the price of this hotel, there are a few niggly complaints.
1. The AirCon didn't work. The lowest temperature they allow is 19 c. That's for sustainability, I understand, but it's useless when it doesn't work. The glass fronted building also allows a great deal of heat in, which can only be countered by closing the blackout curtains. This is fine, but if you want to be able to appreciate the view in the day time, you'll need A/C to be working.
2. The breakfast staff seemed to just be two people. This meant that they were absolutely run off their feet trying to fix things like the coffee machine, pancake maker (didn't work), refill food, help guests, clean tables, etc. Perhaps they were just missing a staff member (or two?) but, in reality, a hotel like this should be able to compensate for a person down by bringing in staff from elsewhere to support.
3. This might seem a small first world thing but the TVs in the room are not smart, as advertised - the casting doesn't work. Kids disappointed as they don't get TV in hotels much.
