I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Europe in Lucerne (May 29-June 1, 2026) . The hotel was very clean and well maintained, and my room offered a beautiful view that made it a pleasure to return after a day of walking the Old Towne (about 15 minute walk from hotel). The bed was comfortable, and I especially appreciated the plentiful electrical outlets, which made it easy to keep all of my devices charged.
What really stood out, however, was the staff. Everyone was friendly, patient, and extremely helpful. They provided clear directions (bus information / coffee shop info), postage stamps, non-dairy oatmilk with the complimentary breakfast, and even duct tape when my suitcase liner got a rip in it (my own fault). Their assistance helped make my visit smooth and enjoyable. Overall, I found the Grand Hotel Europe to be comfortable, welcoming, and conveniently located. The walk from the hotel along the water was lovely and very flat and comfortable to stroll along. I would gladly stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Lucerne as an excellent location.

The hotel was beautiful. The location was great, right by a bus stop that took you easily into Lucerne and runs frequently. The breakfast was great- combination of European and American. Beautiful view of Lake Lucerne and the mountains. Cons: our room was hot, the ac system did little to cool the room, we had to sleep with the windows open and the hotel provided a fan on request. It might be better to have a room facing the lake in a lower level if this is an hard stop for you. Also, the shower made no sense. I am not even 5 feet tall and could not stand to shower unless my head was in the window box. The fifth floor is a new addition. Not sure who designed the bathroom - but it was terrible.

Kaum jemand spricht deutsch.
Im Zimmer fehlen, Hausschuhe, Minibar, Schuhlöffel, Abschminkwatte.
Frühstück: es fehlt Käseauswahl (nur Scheibletten). Brotsorten beschränkt. Kaum Süssspeisen.
Personal Speisesaal: bis 6 Personen stehen herum und sprechen zu laut untereinander.
Positiv: 2 h vorher Check in möglich. Zimmer ok mit toller Aussicht.

Our stay with 2 young kids was comfortable.
We arrived late at night; checkout was easy, and the staff was helpful.
Parking was across the street, which is not terrible but can be inconvenient.
Breakfast had a variety of options, and the staff was accommodating.
Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable.
Overall, we had a great experience.

Overall this hotel was decent and I would stay again.
1. The air conditioning is quite weak, somehow I don't think the conditioner is sized correctly for the room's cubic area as it took ages for it to change the temperature - with the windows closed, and radiator off. The hotel is evidently well-insulated but getting rid of excess heat is an issue.
2. Car parking - specific numbered spaces are allocated but multiple times cars were parked in different spaces, including the one assigned to me - just a free for all. There's no real need to allocate a specific space though as long as the hotel doesn't over-provision, which I don't think they would.
3. Breakfast - the selection was diverse but some staff members are much better than others at helping - there's a clear gap in the training levels with some who are really good and some not so great.
The hotel caters mainly to tour groups and I think there were maybe half a dozen non-group customers staying at any one time.

Highly recommend this Hotel. We got upgraded (a lovely surprise) to a room with view over Lake Lucerne, beautiful. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff were always friendly, very helpful. A bus stop outside the hotel was perfect to get into Lucerne but walking along the lake on the pathway to Lucerne was preferred, easy, safe, entertaining and just stunning. The common areas of the hotel were inviting and very comfortable. Breakfast had enough variety to please everyone, delicious. Thanks for our perfect stay.

Walkable but convenient to the bus stop and the hotel provides a bus pass! Great Mountain View’s along with lovely landscaping. Breakfast buffet nice but not varied so by day 4 we were bored of choices. Had to have a fan brought to room as AC was inadequate except in the hallway which was really cold. Would definitely stay here again though!!!

Love love this hotel. It was very clean and staff are super friendly. I’m definitely staying here again and will recommend everyone to check this place out. We took advantage of the bus right in front of the hotel. You can cross the street and be at the most peaceful part of Lake Luzern. I enjoyed my walk and dipping my feet in the lake. I can’t wait to go back! Oh and the breakfast was heavenly.

Hotel is in the nice and quiet area of Haldenstrasse. Its about 10 min drive to the train station. Ensure that you got everything in the "downtown area" like shopping, food and etc. Considering this is in Luzern everything is closed almost after 9:00 pm except maybe some kebab and pizza place or Mcdonalds and Burger King.
We got the lakeview front room. However the view is not full due to some treees and building in front. I dont recommend if you want the view but worth if you want the extra room size.
For the amenities, towels are replaced and beds are made. I dont believe the room is cleaned except for taking out trash. There were 2 still and 2 sparking water on 1st day that were not replaced. Also included is free breakfast. It's a standard western breakfast buffet. Its a great positive since most food in the city are expensive. Theres also a free luzern city card that allows free bus and boat ride for your duration of stay.

They asked (and we had to pay) extra charges for our daughter even though we had booked a quadruple room.
The shower ceiling was too low. We were not able to shower without hitting our heads and shoulders.

Didn’t get the room originally booked after double confirmation was done via email. Staff was very helpful
And in the end the property manager helped resolve with a sliight reduction in cost for the 3td night. Would stay at the property again. P
